At the Motion Picture Industry Convention “ShoWest,” actress Vanessa Hudgens will be named “Female Star of Tomorrow.”

Vanessa’s “Beastly” co-star Alex Pettyfer will be named “Male Star of Tomorrow” at the event.

According to Robert Sunshine, the ShoWest managing director, Vanessa and Alex were chosen to receive these awards because they are “outstanding young talents.”

The ShoWest awards ceremony is set to take place on Thursday, March 18th, but the ShoWest event itself kicks off on March 15th at the Bally’s and Paris hotels in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Word is that Zac Efron’s latest movie “The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud” has been pushed back from a June release date to release on October 15, 2010.

In the movie, Zac plays the character Charlie who is so upset that his younger brother has passed away that he takes a job as caretaker of the cemetery that he is buried in.

Figure skater Michelle Kwan has joined ABC’s Good Morning America show as a special correspondent covering the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.

Michelle’s first report will air on Friday, February 12th.

Get ready for her coverage and commentary of Olympic games, including, of course, figure skating.

Good Morning America airs live Monday – Friday from 7AM – 9AM EST on ABC.

It was recently announced that “The Lion King” will be headed back to Broadway in Chicago for a six week run which will begin on September 29th.

The show will be at the Cadillac Palace Theater.

The show is directed by Julie Taymor and features song from Tim Rice and Elton John.
