Last night Miley hit the Country Music Awards in Nashville by herself so that boyfriend Justin Gaston could perform on stage with Taylor Swift.

“I’m flying solo tonight,” Cyrus told People.com on the red carpet. “Justin is making an appearance in Taylor’s song. But that’s OK, because it means my two best friends are onstage at the same time!”

Justin played a Prince Charming character in Taylor’s recent music video for her song “Love Story,” and he joined her onstage while she sang.

When asked about Miley, Justin said “I saw [Miley] briefly,” Gaston told the site. “She really looks pretty.”
