This Spring (on April 19), Walt Disney World’s Space Mountain ride will be closing. Space Mountain is 34 years old and has not had any substantial renovations done since 1999.
The ride will receive a new track, a new waiting area enclosure, and a new ceiling.

The renovations to Space Mountain will undoubtedly include a revised loading area for the handicapped, as found in the recently renovated Space Mountain at Disneyland. Thus, Orlando will join Anaheim as having the two most handicapped-accessible roller coasters in the world.
