Selena has said recently that she really misses her home in Texas, saying she doesn’t get to go back often due to her hectic schedule. Currently Selena lives in LA, without her family: “I miss my family. They’re the reason I am the person I am today.” But luckily, Selena has Demi Lovato around, and the BFFs spend their time together shopping and being normal teens.
Selena also misses the small-town vibe of Texas, “I still love going home and being able to drive at 7 AM in the morning and not have any traffic.”
In 2008, Selena Gomez was named the UNICEF spokesperson, and this year she continues to do good. Selena stars in a new public service announcement calling for safer drivers.
Selena wants teens who have just started driving to put their phones away when they get in the car and instead concentrate on the road. She tells viewers, “Don’t do a thousand things in your car! In the car, just focus on what you need to be doing.”
Selena will start driving when she turns 17 in July, and promises to be safe behind the wheel. She says, “I’m going to try to put my phone on silent. You can tell yourself, ‘I’m not going to get it,’ but once you hear it you get tempted and distracted. So for me… I’ll put it on silent, put it in my purse and just drive…I’ve almost been in wrecks because of people (using phones while driving)…I’ll sit there and look at someone and go, ‘Gosh! She completely almost ran into us,’ then look at her and see she’s on the phone. That’s the reason!”

Yesterday, the Jonas Brothers played softball with their friends at a park near their hometown. While Nick and Joe played, Kevin sat on the sidelines playing with Nick’s puppy Elvis and his girlfriends ne dog Texas Teacup Daisy – what a fun name!
Alison Brie, an actor on Mad Men, has guest starred on Hannah Montana and thinks that Miley is a great role model for kids despite her recent racist photo: “In general, she does great at being a great role model for kids. Everybody makes mistakes,” Brie told UsMagazine.com, adding that she thinks Cyrus “knows when she’s messed up. We’ll give her the benefit of the doubt.”
Alison also thinks that Miley is having a hard time with media scrutiny because she reached a high level of fame at an early age: “I think people are too hard on kids in the entertainment industry,” she told UsMagazine.com. “It’s a really tough industry to be in. If your average Joe was put under a microscope and scrutinized the way Miley Cyrus is, they’d be doing a lot worse.”
