From Zac Efron to Joe Jonas and Mitchel Musso the “Boy Bang” has been introduced in the Disney World with no hope on the horizon of it disappearing. We think Zac wears it best, sometimes his bangs look a bit tousled, but mostly they are perfectly side swept for the ladies to ogle at. Mitchel had it good too, before his haircut – now, not so much.
But Disney didn’t come up with this cut on it’s own. Turns out the “cool kids” of the 1960s and 1970s were best known for this hairstyle. A New York salon stylist says of the haircut, “It’s soft and glamorous. The new boy-bang version has a more organic texture to it in that it’s cared for and not overly controlled. That sounds a little feminine, doesn’t it?”
Do you like this look or would you prefer your favorite Disney celebs with a bit more controlled haircut?

I detest bangs on boys after 10 years old. I coach a public speaking team and ask that my students see role models among the anchors and hosts found on TV.
I am writing this in March of ’10 and the current boy bang style is similar to that shown above on Efron. Justin Beiber and the “Zack and Cody” boys my daughter loves look like little girls! Too androgynous for me, personally. At ten, I’d want my “hearthrob” to look like a boy, not like my BFF.
