In the upcoming issue of OK! Magazine, High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale talks about how her breakup with her ex inspired her to work harder in her career. A.Tis broke up with Jared Murillo after dating for two years, and is now dating the director of her most recent music video “It’s Alright, It’s Ok!” Scott Speer.

Ashley told the magazine, “I’m a big romantic, so I love guys who are romantic too. I think it’s important to be with someone that you can be yourself around. I need a guy that I can hang out with in sweats and no makeup and still feel comfortable and beautiful. Someone who’s trustworthy.” Sounds like she found that in Scott!

In the magazine A.Tis gives her opinion on the obsession with Hollywood and being stick thin, saying, “I’ve been very skinny my whole life… I don’t really like this look. I like curves — I think that’s more beautiful… I look at Jessica Alba and think she’s got a great body. I think that’s what women are supposed to look like. I love French fries and bread, and when I’m on tour I have McDonald’s… At home, I like to cook — I love omelets in the morning. Still, I have started working out, so I do try to limit carbs and add protein. I want to build a little muscle.”

Ashley also lets the details spill that she is friends with both Vanessa Hudgens and Miley Cyrus – although we’ve never heard anything about them actually hanging out together, and we all know Miss Miley loves to give us the play-by-play of who she is hanging out with on her Twitter so we’re a little skeptical. However, A.Tis says, “It’s important to have girlfriends, because guys tend to come and go… I hang out with Miley Cyrus and Vanessa Hudgens a lot and watch chick flicks and I listen to music like Pink’s ‘So What’ and Britney Spears’ ‘Out From Under.’ That helps me move on faster. Miley’s a big sweetheart. She’s stayed true to herself and hasn’t changed for how huge she is. She’s always there to listen.”

In the coming months, Ashley will be seen in the summer blockbuster “Aliens in the Attic,” previously titled “They Came From Upstairs,” and will release her second album titled “Guilty Pleasure.” Ashley had this to say about the upcoming album: “It’s edgier and more mature… There’s a lot of breakup songs from stuff I experienced.”

In the future, A.Tis says she would love to act alongside Goldie Hawn, Cameron Diaz or Kate Hudson because they are “independent women who don’t hold back.” We look forward to seeing what Ashley does next!
