Due to the shows fantastic success this season, the Disney Channel has ordered additional episodes to be taped for this season of The Suite Life On Deck. A new character will be introduced in the new episodes played by actor Larramie “Doc” Shaw from “House of Payne.” Larramie played the character of Malik Payne in House of Payne for which he received a 2009 NAACP Image Award nomination, the 2009 Young Artist Award and a 2009 NAMIC Vision Award for Best Performance in a Comedy.
The President of the Disney Channel, Gary Marsh, said about the expansion of the shows season that “With this second-season extension, the cast of ‘The Suite Life’ makes Disney Channel history by becoming the longest running continuous characters on our air – 138 half-hour episodes. We are thrilled for them, and for the brilliant, inspired production team that made this extraordinary run possible.”
In addition to the season expansion, Disney has also decided to air the episodes not only on the Disney Channel but also on Disney’s new XD Channel. The Suite Life On Deck will air at 8PM on the Disney Channel and 7AM on Disney XD.

Miley Cyrus stayed in the car as boyfriend Justin Gaston ran into a Subway restaurant to grab a foot-long sub to munch on. As far as we know Justin is still working on his television show Glee which has been airing on Fox ever since the pilot got picked up.
Selena Gomez will be appearing on the June/July 2009 cover of Teen Vogue. The magazine issue will hit news stands on May 19th (next Tuesday).
Inside the magazine Selena talks about the upcoming Disney Channel Original Movie Princess Protection Program and her love life.
Selena stars in Princess Protection Program alongside (former) BFF Demi Lovato. Selena dishes, “We’re both surrounded by adults 24/7, and we have to act professional, but when we’re together we can just be sixteen. We watch movies, talk about boys, and do each other’s hair and makeup.”
As far as her love life goes Selena says, “I used to say that I wanted someone cute and nice, an actor too, so he’d get it. But now I think it would be good for me to date someone who’s not in the business. I want someone honest, someone who’s very sweet to my family and friends, and polite to the other people around me. Being cool, having a ‘cool’ energy, is just not attractive to me… I want what I deny. I want someone who is crazy about me, who treats me like a princess. I want the picture-perfect fairy-tale stuff.”

This summer Disney Channel is hooking up with Disney Cruise Lines to give guests aboard a special treat. Eight times this summer the two Disney companies will combine to make a magical cruise for visitors. The events are presented by Kodak and are called “Disney Channel Summer at Sea.”
Disney Channel stars will be boarding the cruise lines to perform guests favorite Disney songs. Performers will include stars from Disney’s Hannah Montana, Sonny With A Chance, Hatching Pete, Wizards of Waverly Place, High School Musical, Camp Rock, J.O.N.A.S., and The Suite Life on Deck. The stars will travel with guests for their 3-4 night Bahamian cruises between the dates of July 9th and August 2nd. Along with performing, the stars will have autograph sessions and be free to roam around the boat to mingle with guests. Radio Disney will also broadcast live during two of the dates.
Disney Cruise Line President Karl Holz said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Disney Channel and offer guests on our ship a unique opportunity to sail with Disney Channel stars. A cruise vacation with Disney Cruise Line is always a family-favorite and ‘Disney Channel Summer at Sea’ provides families another reason to set sail and experience the Disney difference.”

We recently reported that we aren’t sure if Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez are still BFFs and now we’re wondering if Selena’s decision to date Twilight star Taylor Lautner had something to do with it. In a recent interview Demi says that Taylor is one of her “really good friends,” and that he is “so adorable.” Well, hands off Demi, because Selena’s the one with him!
We’re wondering if maybe Demi had some not so nice things to say about Selena’s choice in men before-hand. The two former BFFs have not spoken publicly on Twitter in quite some time – something they used to always do. Perhaps Demi is backtracking on whatever she said and now making public statements about how much she loves Twilight, and of course Taylor.
Demi continued in the interview that “It’d be cool, of course, to play a character in the Twilight series or whatever. That’s be a dream. That’d be really cool.” We’re not so sure she sounds convinced!
Demi also says, “Edward Cullen … oh, my gosh! I’m sorry, Bella, but I would have to steal him away from you! Or he’d have to have a son that would grow fast or something that I would eventually date.”
