The Walt Disney Company announced yesterday that they have assigned a Director and Choreographer to “High School Musical 4,” which is tentatively titled “High School Musical East Meets West.” Jeffrey Hornaday will take control of both of those important jobs for the 4th HSM which was written by Peter Barsocchini.
HSM 4 will hit the airwaves in 2010 as a Disney Channel Original Movie. The movie will be about the school rivalry between our favorite East High Wildcats and the West High Knights. The movie is currently in the process of being cast for characters.
A Disney executive has said about High School Musical 4 that, “The creative challenge for ‘High School Musical East Meets West’ is to deliver every element that the audience expects, and then re-invent those elements in a bold new way. Clearly, we’re thrilled to have our screenwriter from all three ‘HSM’ movies back, along with our producing and songwriting teams. Adding a dynamic, imaginative, visual stylist like Jeffrey Hornaday as our director/choreographer introduces the perfect catalyst to take this team to the next level.”
Jeffrey added, “I’m excited to be part of a franchise that, thematically, encourages kids to believe in themselves. Like the first three movies, my goal is to keep the art form of the traditional musical alive, yet bring a contemporary emotional response to the story and its characters through song and dance.”
Do you think Disney should make a 4th High School Musical or do you think three was enough? As far as we know none of the original characters have agreed to come back for the 4th movie

I Think This HSM Will Be A Let Down As All The Original Characters Are Well Known And The New Cast Members Will Probably Never Be Heard Of And Will Just Ruin Hsm, I Used To Be Obsessed With Hsm – I Still Like It But I Moved On Coz The Origional Cast Have Left
I’m actually very excited for it and this article has done nothing but heightn my excitement! A lot of people think that they should just stop with the third but I say keep the party going! I love HSM! I think that the “next generation” of East Highers has the potential to captivate our hearts just as the first did. We just have to give it a chance!! Just like The first “Bring it on” none of the others could ever match up to it, but they were good! I don’t know if it will be like this or not but I am certainly willing to give it a chance! I can’t wait for it to come out!!

Well . this article is correct . but the final answer on if it is going to happen is yes . high school musical east meets west is going to be number 4 of the hit movie high school musical. i actually cant wait to see it . im 50% sure that tiara gold (the blonde who was sharpays assistant) is gonna be in it . as will another one of the boys that is short and had to run around the school in just a towel for his clothes . but yes highschool musical east meets west is coming out in 2010 i think around May or June . around there im pretty sure. :] Bet your all excited. rumour has it if this movie is a success they might even be doing one on College graduates and becoming like FAMILYS!!! omgsh can you imagine . lol well that just reminds me of harry potter and all of the 6 movies. well cya . and cant wait for number 4 . there is rumours floating about number 5 too. omgsh yay !
i think it will be a flop because everyone noos the actors from the first three and i thimk that no one wants a new zac efron because we allready have one you will see no one will like that movie . only when the original cast do the movie than it will be a suces . i mean i am not going to watch it will be boring
I personally am excited, because I already know before hand not to get my hopes up. As sad as it is, the Original cast has moved on to bigger and better things, so I am just going to sit back and relax and enjoy the ride, who knows, the movie might turn out better than expected. And if not…Well, we still have the orignal trilogy to keep us all happy!

the fourth one should still have ashley tisdale in it since in the movie sharpay said she would be ms darbus’s assistant sort of plus rocketman and the british exchange student should be in it and all the adult characters exept for troys mom and anyone who doesnt have a job at east high. i bet it might be like the star trek movies no one thinks the new ones will be any good but hopefully it will be great as the other three

it will SO fail! You know…i LOVE hsm! And …hsm3 is THE END of the story! It would be STUPID to go on with it with an other cast! I mean everyone loves Zac,Vanessa and Ashley as main cast, right? So Their story ended. No one, except the ORIGINAL cast can continue. HSM got soooo many fans and love! And they ruin just everything!
I love all of the High School Musical movies and I would love to see another one but I won’t watch it if all of the original cast aren’t in it. It seems like Vanessa, Zac, and Ashley have all moved on from HSM and I don’t think they want to go back to that crazy life and being surrounded by fans 24/7. They will have to fight the Twilight cast for the spotlight as well. It’s Twilight mania now, not HSM mania. I think HSM’s time in the spotlight is up. It’s too bad though.
I’ll watch it, but I probably will hate it. Considering that Matt Prokop (Johnny the Rocketman Zara) has already confirmed that Disney did not ask him back (also they didn’t ask Jemma or Justin). Instead they decided to “take it in a new direction”.
Why introduce my eyes to beautiful eye candy of Matt Prokop and then not let him be in the 4th installment??? It’s a travesty.
But like I said I’ll it a chance, but I know myself, I’ll hate it.
After the first one I was finished with hsm. I was in 6th grade when the 2nd came out so I was kinda off of Disney already. But I’ll watch it. I think it will just be really bad. Plus it will have a different cast.
If the original cast is not in it. I don’t think it will be good. I hate when they do sequels and the original cast are not in it unless they kill the character off. Not sure if it will be worth watching.
I personally think HSM is mediocre. The story ended in HSM3. Leave it alone, don’t be a cheap*** and try to suck out all the money you can from it.
And those who are HSM fans, and think HSM4 will be horrible, I know you will still see it just because it’s HSM. ****ing cheap*** producers.

i was a HUGE fan of HSM when it came out and i still kinda am and the thing is im 13! cant wait for HSM 4 to come out. i heard that zac and vanessa wont be coming bck but itll be no fun w/o them and the original crew!

Seriously? I used to be absolutely obsessed with HSM; I’m not gonna lie. But the original (The very 1st one! Not the other 2 either!) was the best and always will be. If they’re making a whole new cast it’s just not the same at all. Might as well name it a whole different thing. It seems like it’s just a ‘new generation’ of HSM. Not excited and probably not going to see it.

What I think: There should be a HSM4, but with the old cast members. Its going to be so weird seeing it with no people, it wont be the same at all.
