As we’ve been reporting for a while, and as Drew Seeley has been promoting every chance he gets, Drew will be playing the part of Eric this summer in Disney’s Broadway version of “The Little Mermaid.” He will appear in the shows that start tonight and go through August 30, 2009.
We always thought that people they work on Broadway dedicate at least a year if not longer to a show, but it looks like Disney is just trying to push this particular play until school stars up again and then they can probably pay someone less money who is less famous when they take over the role.
The show is held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater located at 205 West 46th Street in New York City.

Actually the role of Prince Eric after Drew Seeley leaves goes to Sean Palmer. And Sean Palmer was actually in the original broadway cast of the production and has been playing the role of Prince Eric almost nonstop from 2007 to the present.
Sean Palmer created the stage character of Prince Eric, just how Sierra Boggess created the stage character for Ariel. And if anything else, there’s the always possibilty that Drew could be getting paid less than Sean, or for all we know they could be getting paid the same, but it’s not the money that’s important. It’s the performance and Drew will be fantasic in the production, just as Sean was before him and after him.
