Miley Cyrus was supposed to film part of her movie “The Last Song” in North Carolina, but now it looks like the entire movie will be filmed in Savannah, Georgia – and now we know why! The Walt Disney Company had asked the state of North Carolina for a tax credit worth somewhere between $125,000 and $225,000 to shoot part of the movie in the state, and it looks like the state of NC and its revenue officials didn’t think that Walt Disney Pictures should receive the money.
The movie being filmed in North Carolina would have created summer jobs for 500 individuals in the state and brought in more than $17 million in revenue for NC. Your loss North Carolina!

I live in North Carolina and I think this was a truely STUPID move on my state’s behalf. I can only imagine how Nicholas Sparks, a North Carolina resident and the writer of the Last Song, feels about being let down by his own state.
