Drew Seeley Interview

J-14 Magazine recently sat down with Disney’s Drew Seely to talk about his friends, his career, and his time playing Prince Eric in Broadway’s “The Little Mermaid.”

When asked how he landed the role of Prince Eric, Drew answered, “I’ve been working with Disney for a number of years, but I’ve never worked with them on Broadway. When the opportunity to audition came up, I came right to New York, I auditioned and met the whole creative team. Then about two weeks later I got a call and they said, ‘Yeah! Let’s do it!’” And about the opening night of his first performance he said, “It couldn’t have been more perfect. My parents, my drama teacher from high school, and a lot of my best friends were there. Everybody came out to support me. The cast made me feel welcome right away and everybody has been awesome. It’s going to be a great summer — I’m really excited!

What does Drew think of his “Another Cinderella Story” co-star Selena Gomez? He said, “She’s such a sweetheart and always a professional. It was funny when we first started working together because she had experience being on set from Wizards of Waverly Place and I had experience with music, so we helped each other out a lot. We learned a lot from each other and we still keep in touch.” And does he keep in touch with any of his co-stars from Disney’s High School Musical? Of course! He said, “I still talk to Corbin [Bleu] and his band all the time — those guys are really good friends of mine. And a few weeks ago I shot a few webisodes with Lucas [Grabeel] for a series that’s called, I Kissed a Vampire. We both play vampires, but that’s all I can say about it. It’s going to be released over the summer.” Wow, that web movie with Lucas sounds awesome and we can’t wait to see it!
