Demi Lovato performed tonight in Boston, MA at the Agganis Arena. KSM took the stage to open up the night at 7PM and played for about 15 minutes. They played their two hit songs and a few we had never heard. All in all they’re definitely going to make it for a few years with Disney, but unless they are promoted a bit more they might not be around forever it didn’t seem like many of the concert goers (average age 8 – 14) had no idea who they were. They have so much potential and we hope they are around for years, and years, and years! Click here to learn more about the band.
Then after a short break American Idol runner-up David Archuleta made a dramatic entrance and went right into all of his greatest hits we all know and love.
Aside from being in need of a serious haircut and being completely drenched with sweat, David was AMAZING. We immediately came home and purchased his album. We watched him on American Idol, but he is SO much better in real life! If he ever headlines anothing tour by himself it would be a MUST-SEE in our opinion.
UPDATE: Thank you for all of you who informed us that David has in fact headlined his own tour before. We didn’t realize since he is opening for Demi. We figured if he had headlined his own tour he would continue to do so, sorry for the mix up!
UPDATE: David just posted this on Twitter: “I really need a haircut! But where to get a good one while on tour?? hmm..” We told you!
His band was super fun and, while he may not have the most extreme stage presence, his voice makes up for it! He never missed a beat, or forgot the words to his song and he was just fantastic!
After a twenty minute intermission Demi Lovato performed. She opened up pretty strong, but as most of you know she has been complaining on Twitter about losing her voice most of the nights in the last week due to singing so much. Well, yet again, within three songs her voice was done for.
She forgot some lyrics to some of her super new songs (which is totally understandable, we would too!) and she didn’t hit any of the high notes because of her voice (poor Demi!) but she was so fun, and smiled the entire time. She was dressed super cute and her hair looked perfect! After the audience helped her sing her hit song “Don’t Forget” when she completely lost her voice, and had tears in her eyes, she said tonight was her favorite memory of the song. (We wish you all could have been there for that!)
We got some really awesome video from the show and we can’t wait to share it with you tomorrow, but we hope these pictures can hold you over for now!

Great review!! I’m going to a concert next month.
Ooooh, and David did headline his own tour earlier this year. It wasn’t as long so it didn’t get to all the major cities. But David + 17 songs = INCREDIBLE.
David Archuleta is UNREAL he’s so gooood!! I’ve seen him six times and traveled over 10,000 miles to do it.
He is a once in a generation TALENT! His voice is heavenly, and he rearranges his songs on the fly so they’re always a little different yet perfect every time. Besides which, he’s gorgeous and completely endearing.
Don’t miss seeing him if you can possibly avoid it. He is truly INCREDIBLE! No exaggeration.
I have a VIP ticket to see him in Seattle in July, and I can’t wait! I’ll rack up another 600 miles in the process…but he is SOOO worth it!
HAHA – I love David’s hair right now and adore his awesome archustompin’ moves! The ‘voice’ is perfect right now and I can’t wait to see him later this summer!!
I was there! Everything said about David Archuleta was true – he really rocked the house in Boston with his energy and awesome voice. I couldn’t believe he’d be so good live in concert…. his voice is soooo beautiful – strong, passionate, and he has a lotta charm, and his stage presence for me was strong. The audience loved him, and the fans, both young kids and adults, screamed and screamed their approval throughout his set. He is the real star and draw for this tour,im my opinion.
Lovato’s set was…. you are not being honest..Lovato’s set was a trainwreck, from start to finish. She had no voice at all, her music was louder than loud to try to cover up for the fact that she couldn’t sing… I felt bad for her, as it was evident she couldn’t hit any notes. She needs to get it together, because she did herself no favors last night in her role as the headliner. Archuleta clearly outclassed and outsang her in every way, and makes one wonder why he is not headlining instead of her.
Sorry to hear about Demi, and hope she gets the help she needs to heal.
I’m a huge David fan and have tickets to his shows in Kansas City and Omaha. Can. Not. Wait. !!!!!!.
David Archuleta is incredible!!!
He is one of the best performers live, and his CD is also great. He is so passionate in his singing that he pours all his energy and sweat into every performance, and that makes for great stage presence. I agree he is FANTASTIC and totally AMAZING, everyone should get to see him perform live at least once!

Thanks for recognizing how AMAZING David is when he performs live; he truly is FANTASTIC and a MUST-SEE wherever he goes. I love David with long hair, short heart, sweaty, non-sweaty, on stage, off stage; it doesn’t matter, I just love him to pieces! He is an amazing artist and a remarkable human being. I can’t wait to see him this summer!
The reason David A. sweats is that he puts his heart into his performances. He is fantastic live but his cd is amazing. One song he doesn’t do on tour is Your Eyes Don’t Lie off his album and I love that song. He actually did it when he did that concert by himself to kick off this tour. I have seen him 2 times live and have a VIP mon. night. I would go see him every week live if he was around here. He should just do the tour himself if Demi’s voice goes. I heard his management is looking for venues for him to fill in those cancelled shows just by himself. So, I hope they find some.
Demi loss her voice? Enough reason for David to be the Headliner in this tour.As DA fan I knew Demi is not in the same league as David.He is the BEST.

I purchased these tickets because he did not appear anywhere near my city during his solo tour and since seeing him on the AI tour I can’t wait to see him again. David should be seen in a live setting his voice is just beautiful. He should be headling this tour no offense.

David SOLD OUT his first headliner tour earlier this year 24 of 25 shows across the country (with 3 of them being added on at the end due to demand).
First CD is on it’s way to platinum ~ and we LOVE sweaty David ~ he holds nothing back.
my concert is on the 18th and i can’t wait to see david! i’ve seen him a few times before on his solo tour and he is always fantastic live. also looking forward to seeing how ksm and demi are live.

I’m seeing the show next month and I absolutely cannot wait to see David. I have a VIP ticket to the show for him. He is an unbelievable performer and is truly amazing live. I’m also going to one of the solo shows that he is doing while Demi is at a state fair.
And fyi. He HAS had a headlining tour (earlier this spring) in smaller veneues. He also did an arena in Salt Lake. All 23 shows but one SOLD OUT pretty quickly. I went to 3 shows.
archuleta stole the show…. he was smokin’ hot last night not just in looks, but in his singing, the crowd response to him. i felt sorry for lovato having to follow him – he show was overblown, the band was way too loud and distracting, and her voice was real raggedy… i don’t think she’s going to be able to pull this tour off if she keeps performing like she did last night.. disney should put this girl on vocal rest, or something, cause it was embarrasing and painful to watch her last night. push come to push, archuleta could carry this off on his own as the headliner – that’s what he appears to really be anyway.

David is awesome Live. I been to two already and going to see him again. BTW, he did do a solo tour where all shows were sold out! I think they were 23 shows, and the best one was RENO!! haha, I’m partial cuz that’s the one I went to. I’ll never forget it. This young man is so amazing. David fans are not only teenagers, but all ages from college kids,people in their 30s, 40s, 50s and so all. My mom is 80 and she adores him
Thanks for a good review of David’s performance. He is a fantastic live performer and I love love love his CD. More radio stations should play his music. He did have a sold-out solo tour last spring and I saw one in Pomona, CA and I have to say he never ceases to amaze me. I hope Demi can regain her beautiful voice soon. She is one talented girl and I wish her the best in this tour.
Sorry to hear that Demi is loosing her voice, glad that the fans can sing along with her though. Fans are good at doing that, showing support. Hope she heals so she can continue her tour and wow the crowd!
D. Archuleta need a haircut? Didn’t you know long hair is in? Does the name JBrothers come to mind? BTW, you would sweat to if you had to sing and move all other the stage like he did under hot lights. lol He was awesome!

Oh, okay, so she forgot her lyrics (NOT understandable, she’s a professional) and her voice gave out (preventable if she’s singing correctly), but she was dressed omgsupercute and her hair was awesome, so it’s all good!
Um, no. Doesn’ work like that. She needs to get it together. There’s a reason the concert isn’t selling well.
I don’t like how everyone is being so mean to Demi. I saw her on tour last year with the Jonas Brothers and she was really good. She also sang great in Camp Rock. I think she’s really sick. Give her a break.
Last year Demi was the opener her set was way most short than the set of her tour now…18-20 songs are too much not just for Demi but for any singer out there..and this was easily to see or the songs need just an easy vocals or you really have a super strong voice,in Demis case is not either raison . she need to be a little more humble , warm her voice , reduce her set, say thank you to her openers sometimes…
Demi you are already the headliner, then just do your thing like a professional,and yes David was Amazing and the Band girls very responsables with their set.
marcela..i remember posting a comment like that on you tube and got a lot of feedbacks about Demi not thanking David for opening for her. While David did it to his previous openers she did not. O well, look, how could ayone not be so inlove with David..like every concert with Demi – he would say always “thank you for letting us up here” – I’d say, “A WHAT THE HOOK IS THAT?”. David, come on, you almost like the one headlining the tour on her behalf.. Way so humble and kind and giving..all together..bring it on..
Making it happen for goodness sake. David has this UNIVERSAL STRENGTH to perform live – no offense to the Jonas Brothers – but live – the crown is for DAVID ARCHULETA ..soon to be the next ELVIS PRESLEY.. I wish and pray for that to happen – good for the world..

I was at the Duluth concert – VIP for David – and I must admit that I didn’t stay for Demi’s performance. Somewhere I read that someone said that, actually, rather than David opening for Demi, she is CLOSING for him! That may sound mean to her fans, but there is just no denying how much more talented David is!
I wish that everyone had the chance to see him perform live – it’s quite an experience.
Without Disney behind her, Demi would be just another pretty face.
