Walt Disney Family Museum Opening In San Francisco This Fall

Walt Disney Magic Kingdom Cinderella's Castle

The family of legend Walt Disney hope to inform the public of their relative in a way that has never been done before. They want the public to continue thinking of magic and movies when they hear the name Walt, but they also want everyone to know the story of the man himself.

Walt Disney’s daughter, Diane Disney Miller, said, “My dad’s story is an inspirational story. I want people to understand his character and how he pursued his career. Our museum will be entertaining,” she said. “That’s what dad was all about.”

Walt’s family became concerned when they found out that a large number of young people think that Walt Disney is a made up character, the same as Mickey Mouse, to help sell the Disney image. They hope to prove this idea false with the Walt Disney Family Museum which will be opening in San Francisco this fall (hopefully by October 1, 2009).

The museum will display all of Disney’s work in one place, from his movies, theme parks and inventions. The space will feature 10 galleries, which will display stories and artifacts from Walt’s childhood to adulthood.

Pixar’s co-founder, John Lasseter, said this about the upcoming museum, “Not only will it be a great illustration of Walt’s life and career, but also his impact on entertainment and the medium of animation. I really think it will become one of the must-see places in San Francisco. His ideas were way beyond what was being done in Hollywood. He kept pushing the technology of animation and that is something that at Pixar we’ve always been doing as well. What is so great about this museum is really teaching people about the man behind the name, the man behind all this great work. What I’m so excited about is for people to learn how creative this guy was and what an innovator he was.”

We can’t wait for this to open – we want to go so bad!

Selena Gomez Charity Event

Selena Gomez attended a charity event last night to benefit the Raise Hope for the Congo group. Out of all of the young Disney Stars she is the only one we hear about attending these events ALL the time. It makes us so happy to hear about all of them!

Which other celebrities do you know that attend so many charity events?

Miley Cyrus And Hugh Jackman Movie Personal Security

Miley Cyrus was spotted having lunch with Hugh Jackman just a few weeks ago and rumors were flying that Miss Miley might be involved in the next X-Men movie, but no, it’s better!

Miley and hugh will be teaming up to remake the 1992 movie “The Bodyguard,” which starred Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. The new movie will be tilted “Personal Security.”

In the film Miley will play a spoiled heiress who someone has threatened to kidnap, forcing Hugh, the bodyguard, to have to follow her 24/7 to make sure that doesn’t happen.

The film is set to release in 2011, but so far no other details have been released. Does this sound like a movie you would be into?

Demi Lovato And Trace Cyrus Update

Demi Lovato Tour Poster

While Demi Lovato has made it very clear on her Twitter that she is not dating anyone, as she promises she would tell us if she was, she is most definitely planning on dating a certain “someone” when they both finish up their tours at the end of the summer.

If you have been following either Demi Lovato’s or Trace Cyrus’ (the older brother of Miley Cyrus) Twitters, you would see very clearly that Demi and Trace keep talking to each other, sending pictures to each other and just being downright cute to each other.

Just yesterday Trace told Demi he missed her so much he wished she would make a surprise trip to see him in Ireland, but sadly she can’t because of her tour! Demi has also been sending him messages like “I miss you…<3" Awwww!

Do you think they make a cute couple? Like it or not, if everything keeps going in the direction it is currently going in Demi and Trace will be an item when their tours finish up and they are both in LA.
