Jonas Brothers Album Sales Dropping

July 2, 2009 |  by

Jonas Brothers Album Sales Dropping

The Jonas Brothers had what looked like a really great first week of album sales since they had the number one album of the week with “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times,” but the 255,000 copies of their CD that they sold was a really low number compared to how many albums the JoBros sold in a week in the past.

And this week is much, much worse for Nick, Joe and Kevin in terms of sales. While their concert is still going strong, they are only expected to sell 70,000 copies of their album this week, which is nowhere near the amount they should be selling.

But maybe now with the news of Kevin’s engagement the CD sales will spike for the next few days. Cross your fingers!

  1. it’s such a shame that the CD sales are so low! Hopefully the new engagement news will help sales! Do the numbers include how many times the album has been downloaded on Itunes? As i think more people are downloading albums now rather than buying it!
    Hopefully the sales will increase.
I think this is their best album yet. xx

  2. Aww They Don’t Deserve That!!

I Bought Their Album The Day It Came Out! I Believe In You Boys!!

    PS Congrats To Kevin!!

  3. Everybodys albums sales are dropping nobodys cds are selling the same any more i know alot of girls who can,t afford this cd. Also Paranoid is in ryan seacrest top 40! Why is it only the Jonas Brothers people say this about!

  4. With how popular they are, even though the album hasn’t sold nearly as well as their previous ones, they’ll get a pass and another shot with their next album. But if that one doesn’t do as well as expected either, something’s gonna change.

And to the previous commenter, yes, iTunes album purchases do count.

  5. And yes, a lot of artists are seeing their album sales fall. But dont say “everyone”. That’s completely false. Taylor Swift & Lil Wayne both have seen their last albums sell just as well, heck, BETTER, than previous efforts. Same with Alicia Keys.

  6. Oh sorry for saying Everyone, just because it did,nt sell really high numbers the second week it does,nt mean it won,t sell high numbers, it could still sell great! but not in the first few weeks. Taylor Swifts next cd could be a flop, who knows! she is at her peak now!

  7. This is very true. Rememeber, Taylor’s first album didn’t start selling like crazy till it had been out for like 1/2 a year. Only time will tell.

The biggest problem JB will face, though, is that most boy bands dont last more than 5-10 years. Look at all the 90s bands. N’Sync, BSB, Hanson, the list goes on. They all lasted about 10 years but nobody made it longer than that. The Bros have to figure out the answer to lasting longer than that.

  8. And 1 last thing:
I am NOT saying JB cannot last, they certainly can.
Just saying that it would be a huge break from the norm when it comes to pop “boy bands” if they were able to stick around.
And if they do, considering its something pretty much no boy band in the past 15 years has been able to do, you’d have to put them up there as one of the best guy pop acts in the past 20 years or so.
