Here’s an update on the fantastic news we gave you back in November – Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” The movie came out in 1991, but in 2010 it will be re-released to theaters in 3D!
The film will be rendered into 3D version by the original director Don Hahn alongside original directors Gary Tousdale and Kirk Wise. This process is supposed to take this group 10 months to complete.
Don said about the upcoming 3D version of the film: “By going back to the original animation files, which have been carefully archived for 17 years, and using the separate background, effects and character animation elements, we’re able to come up with a fun and unique 3-D experience for existing and new fans of the film.”
The film will be out in theaters on Valentines Day, February 14, 2010.
