The Walt Disney Company is days away from finalizing their pick of Rob Marshall to direct the fourth film in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” series. Director Gore Verbinski, who directed the first three films, is no longer working on the Disney franchise.
Thankfully Johnny Depp is still set to come back and reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, however Keira Knightley will not be returning and we are unsure about the other main characters as of yet.
Jerry Bruckheimer is still set to produce the film – production will begin in 2010.
Rob has previously directed “Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha,” and “Nine.”
Does this news have any impact on how excited you are to see the fourth film in the “Pirates” series?
