Ponyo Reviews

Frankie Jonas And Noah Cyrus

Uh oh…according to the Associated Press, “Ponyo” isn’t as good as we all thought it would be. The animated movie stars the voices of Noah Cyrus and Frankie Jonas – siblings to the famous Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers.

The reviews we have seen slate Ponyo as a childish film that doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

In addition, many people find it hard to get into the movie while they are trying to guess the well-known actors voices they hear throughout the film. It has been questioned why the directors and producers did not choose to use the voices of unknown actors as a way to keep the audience more involved in the script and less involved in which actor was playing which character.

The story line is said to be scattered and the Associated Press only gave the film a 2 out of 4.

However, the film is said to be based off of “The Little Mermaid” story-line, so we will still be seeing it. Have you seen “Ponyo?” If so, what did you think of it?

I saw “Ponyo” with my two young cousins (9 and 12) and they both loved it. Personally, I still prefer “Spirited Away” which has more logic to it but “Ponyo” is truly beautiful in a dreamlike kind of way.
