In the past Demi Lovato has been called the “Fat Disney Girl,” and that has been affecting Demi’s life a lot recently. Many of her Tweets in Twitter have been related to how she is a size 2 and doesn’t understand why people would think she was anything but healthy.
Demi has been a great role model for young girls telling them that as long as they feel good then they have nothing to worry about! Demi has always been very open about the size and shape of her own body and has tried to get others to be the same.
But now people are getting more worried about Demi. In the picture above she looks SO tiny.
Along with tweeting the above picture, Demi also tweeted the following lyrics:
“I need you to know, I’m not through the night.. Some days I’m still fighting to walk towards the light.”
The song is “Courage” by Super Chick, and if you read the lyrics, it’s a heartfelt tune about the struggles of anorexia. Some more lyrics go like this:
“I told another lie today
And I got through this day
No one saw through my games
I know the right words to say
Like “I don’t feel well”
“I ate before I came”

Oh my gosh, SHE’S NOT ANOREXIC. For God’s sake, it’s just the way she posed that makes her look so skinny. I met her in person last week and went to her concert(9th row) and she looked perfectly normal. She’s NOT anorexic. People just have to keep finding flaws about all the stars, can’t you just give it a rest?

I think she does look pretty skinny but look at how her arms are in the air and she is leaning back. and she has the same problem i do her hip bone sticks out, but i am NOT anorexic at all.

Yeah I met her 2 weeks ago and while she is skinny, she’s all around tiny, period. As in she’s REALLY REALLY REALLY short. Like the 12 year old girl behind me in meet and greet line was Demi’s height. So she probably is about her ideal weight when you take her shortness into consideration.

People are sooo cruel. She isn’t fat she is healthy. In Hollywood you are soo pressured to be a size zero and 105 pounds. She also is not anorexic. I have seen skinnier. Its the way she’s posing! Go Demi!!!

i think that she does. i have one myself and i immediately noticed when she put those lyrics. she also has put several other “ED” themed songs on her twitter but unless you are familiar with it, you won’t pick up on it. She actually tweeted “courage by superchick” atleast a month ago, before she ever typed the actual lyrics. All of the talk about “omg i havent eaten all day” or “oh i didnt even finish my bowl of oatmeal. SOO full’ is because she WANTS attention, people. She is crying for help. Remember the pictures showing she cuts herself? She was a fat little girl, and im sure she never wants that to return so she has turned into this obsession.

I highly doubt that she is. But why couldn’t she? Enough anorexic love their families but yet they still are mentally unable to move past this. Saying that she loves her fans too much? She doesn’t really owe you much, I imagine she rather keep healthy for her FAMILY not FANS! Besides, she’s had problems in the past for depressions, anorexica typically stems from that.

she is vegetarian now i think, so that might have an impact on her weight/ dress size?
she also talks about how she’s a really healthy eater, so if she is doing anything, i think it would include healthy eating habits.

Honestly, no..I think something’s wrong. =_=” I think it’s sad how so many Disney actresses are skinny these days. Ashley Tisdale used to be, but she put on some more weight and looks fabulous. Brenda Song is gorgeous. Vanessa Hudgens is in great shape and there have been so many others. Seems like they’re getting thinner as time goes on.
Demi never needed to lose a pound but she’s CLEARLY been losing more and more weight. I really thought she’d be the one who could show people what a healthy girl is supposed to look like, seeing as all the others are in the past.
Not to be mean but you can be this skinny and not be anorexic. But she has a had a dramatic weight loss. And Helen anorexia does’t just mean you don’t eat. It means you eat very little or don’t eat at all. Coming from another former, i know what is happening. I’m not a fan, but I do hope she gets better.
Demi is NOT fat. In fact she should go eat a cheeseburger and wash it down with some fries and a milkshake. She’s super skinny but I don’t think she has an eating disorder. I think she’s HEALTHY!!!!

Okay, as someones else pointed out, anorexia does not mean that you don’t eat, you just eat very little. And medically, to be dignosed you need to meet certain criteria, like being underweight along with other things. I think Demi looks pretty decent here, her stomach may not be sucked in, some people’s stomachs just look like that. She might have eating problems, as the media can be cruel sometimes, but we don’t really know unless she comes out and says something. I’m not a fan, but I hope she’s ok, because anorexia is a painful thing to have.

Honestly, as someone who frequents eating disorder support websites due to my own eating disorder, I think she does have disordered eating. She has just entered treatment, though, so she’s moving in the right direction. Posting those lyrics is kind of indicating. Superchick is commonly listened to by people suffering from eating disorders. The singer in the band has an eating disorder so it feels like somebody understands you. And to the people that are saying “she looks fine not anorexic” just because somebody is not scary skinny, does not mean they can’t have an eating disorder. There are tons of eating disorders, like EDNOS as Meghan has stated. There is also BED and COE which means the person would end up GAINING weight. A lot of times a person with an eating disorder is afraid to tell somebody because they don’t want to get the reaction of “but shouldn’t you be skinny, then?” IF you have read some interviews she does discuss the issues she has had with her own image.

You cannot be the one to decide whether someone has an eating disorder or not, unless you have one yourself. Those lyrics she posted are lyrics to a song that only people with eating disorders would know; and they’re written by an artist whose songs are mainly about eating disorders for she has one herself. Posting tweets about how hungry she is, and how she hasn’t eaten all day is a subtle cry for help. When you try to hard to be normal, to try to escape it. For example, her saying she feels all girls should be happy with their bodies and to treat them right and then they will will be rewarded. She says that to make HERSELF believe it too, because I do the same exact thing. “she looks fine, its just the way she is standing” is not a valid comment whatsoever. She has clearly dropped weight; you can tell when weight loss is healthy and not healthy. Demi is naturally a curvy girl, and when she has that dramatic of weight loss while cuts appear on her arms……It is clear she has self esteem issues, those cuts were not an accident. In pictures, you can tell that they were fresh. My heart goes out to her because I know what exactly she is going through.. except she has the misfortune of dealing with it in the spotlight.
Every star is becoming thin, I guess Its the new thing. Its horrible. The world is seeing fat on these teens when there is no fat all all!!!. I think its way to much pressure on the child/teen stars.
I’m so disgusted at the people just LOOKING at her and judging whether or not she has an eating disorder. Just because someone is not on the brink of death does not mean they don’t need help.

i think it’s disgusting how people are pressured so much to change, to be the same as everyone else. demi lovato is beautiful, and bullies changed the way she thought about herself. think about what you say before you say it because calling someone fat or ugly may not seem like it does much, but bullying can destroy lives. the names that you give the person, eventually they will begin to believe them.
i really hope demi is doing well, and will get better soon. i’ve always thought she was a brilliant role model and her getting through this is going to make her an even better one.
