This is such exciting news! The Walt Disney Company has just acquired Marvel Entertainment for approximately $4 billion!
With this deal Disney now owns all of the Marvel characters (there are over 5,000 of them!) including Spider Man, X-Men, Iron Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor, and Captain America. Wow!
Marvel’s CEO said about the deal: “Disney is the perfect home for Marvel’s fantastic library of characters given its proven ability to expand content creation and licensing businesses. This is an unparalleled opportunity for Marvel to build upon its vibrant brand and character properties by accessing Disney’s tremendous global organization and infrastructure around the world.”
After the news was released stock for the Marvel Company went up 10 points.
