During the night a Carnival Cruise Ship passenger went overboard, and luckily a Disney Cruise Ship was there to rescue him!
The Disney ship, “Disney Wonder,” pulled the passenger out of the water after responding to a SOS from the Carnival ship, the “Carnival Sensation.”
After his rescue, the passenger was brought directly to the hospital.
The Carnival ship is reporting that the passenger jumped overboard, releasing the following statement: “Yesterday evening, at approximately 11:15 p.m., a 34-year-old male guest was witnessed jumping overboard from a balcony stateroom on the Carnival Sensation. The ship immediately began search and rescue operations, including returning the vessel to the area where the man was witnessed going overboard.”
Interestingly enough much of the ordeal was documented through social networking, specifically Twitter. Many of the passengers Tweeted to their followers what was going on – just shows how far social networking is coming in our world!
The passenger is expected to be fine. All thanks to the help of Disney!
