Walt Disney World has been having issues with crowd control in the quick-service restaurants offered in its parks in recent years due to so many park guests trying to order food and get tables at the same time.
In an attempt to make the dining experience more enjoyable for park guests during meal times Disney has begun restricting access to the quick-service restaurants, but guaranteeing seating to those allowed in. This will happen most often during the busy dining hours.
The general manager of food and beverage in the Magic Kingdom has said about the new strategy: “This has been very helpful for us from an efficiency standpoint, because everything’s so well-organized.”

This is an excellent idea. The last time we went to Disney World we had to sit in the floor in the restaurant due to lack of tables. If we had know that there were no tables available, we would have waited and ate later or went to another restaurant. Also, they should require those who are taking up a table in the restaurant to order a meal. While we sat in the floor trying to eat, there were several tables taken by families waiting to see the laser/light show, but they had not ordered anything to eat. There should be a reasonable time limit at the tables. Nobody needs three hours to eat.
