

In 1969 New York TV and Film producer Stephen Slesinger transferred exclusive merchandising rights to Winnie The Pooh to the Walt Disney Company. However, in 1991 Stephen claimed that Disney was violating the agreement and that he was not awarded the royalties he was owed.
After a many year legal battle the Walt Disney Company officially owns all the rights to the Winnie The Pooh character.
