Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure

We have shared with you numerous parts from a Question and Answer session with the “Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure” Director Klay Hall and Producer Sean Lurie. You can check out the fifth section we posted here.

Below is the sixth section of that session:

Q: What can we expect in the “Scenes You Never Saw” bonus feature?

Klay Hall: The bonus material is made up of funny scenes, gags, moments and scenarios you would never expect the fairies of Pixie Hollow to experience.

Q: How hard has been the process of working in three different Tinker Bell titles almost simultaneously? I mean, Disney has released two Tinker Bell’s films between 2008 and 2009, and the third one is coming

Sean Lurie: Surprisingly, not as hard as one might think. The reason for this is the great and talented teams of people working on these films. There is a great collaboration among the teams. We have a story trust that is made up of the filmmakers from each of the films. This group has exposure to what each is doing. This helps with consistency. That said, animation is always very complicated. With the right people and attitude it can be a very fun process.

Q: Tink travels beyond Pixie Hollow in this movie – tell us about Tinker Bell’s journey?

Klay Hall: Yes, Tinker Bell goes on a perilous journey. She builds this really cool balloon, from cotton balls, that floats her out over the ocean of Never Land. She travels to this mysterious island, far north, in uncharted territory. Along this journey, she meets lots of interesting characters that she learns important life lessons from.

Q: Tinker Bell is quite a clever Tinker Fairy, what new contraptions does she create in this film?

Klay Hall: Yes, Tinker Bell is quite the tinkering fairy. In Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, she comes up with a few original contraptions. Such as, a high-powered paddleboat, the pulley-and-lever system in the Pixie Dust Depot, a very unique cuckoo clock and tea maker. Finally, she tinkers a really cool balloon that flies from Pixie Hollow out over the ocean of Never Land to a faraway, mysterious island.

Q: Many of our young readers say it’s their dream to work for a company like Disney. Is this something either of you ever thought you would be doing?

Klay Hall: Yes, it is always been a lifelong dream of mine to work for Walt Disney Studios. As a young boy, growing up in Southern California in the shadow of Disneyland, it was where I hoped I would work someday. It has always been the leader in quality family films, and I wanted to be a part of that Disney tradition. I went to the Disney School of Animation at Cal Arts and was influence by the classic Disney animators. Today I feel very honored to live my dream.

“Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure” is releasing to Disney Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, October 27th! We hope you are getting as excited as we are!
