Wow! What a fantastic honor for Disney’s Tinker Bell to be named the United Nations “Honorary Ambassador of Green” yesterday, October 25th. The award was presented to Tink from the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Communication and Public Information, Kiyo Akasaka at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Also at the event was Mae Whitman who is the voice of Tinker Bell in the newest Tinker Bell movie “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” which is releasing tomorrow, October 27th, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.
Also in attendance was Disney’s Raven Symone who does the voice of the fairy Iridessa in the movie as well as the movies director Klay Hall and producer Sean Lurie.
Kiyo Akasaka had this to say about the award being presented to Tink: “We’re delighted Tinker Bell has agreed to be our Honorary Ambassador of Green. This beloved animated character can help us inspire kids and their parents to nurture nature and do what they can to take care of the environment.”
