It has been announced that soon the Walt Disney Company will be unveiling a new technology called Keychest. The technology will allow for consumers to pay a single price for access to a movie or television show across multiple media platforms.

This technology is said to be expected to cause a shift from consumers reliance on DVDs and and instead get them to rely on computers and TV more-so than currently.

Disney Now Using $1 Coins

Walt Disney World

It has just been announced that Walt Disney World will be using $1 coins instead of dollar bills as change at many of its park and resort locations.

Social Media Director of the Disney Parks, Thomas Smith, had this to say about the change from dollar bills to coins: “Our participation in the circulation pilot is part of a continued commitment to environmentality. The coin is an environmentally responsible choice — it’s recyclable and lasts decades longer than paper bills.”

As it turns out, the US government could save billions of dollars if the dollar bill went out of circulation and was replaced by the dollar coin as they would not have to print as many paper dollars each year.

Starting December 13th of this year the dollar coin will be given as change at the following locations at the Walt Disney World Resort:

Epcot Theme Park’s:
- Liberty Inn
- Fife and Drum
- Heritage Manor
- Kodak Kiosk
- AA Carts

Magic Kingdom Park’s:
- Columbia Harbor House
- Liberty Square Market
- Liberty Square Popcorn
- Liberty Square Hot Dog
- Liberty Square Turkey
- Sleepy Hollow
- Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe
- Haunted Mansion Cart
- Heritage House
- Yankee Trader

What do you think about this “change”?

“Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure” Question And Answer Session Part 3

October 21, 2009 |  by  |  1 Comment
Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure

Yesterday we posted the second part of a Question and Answer session with the the “Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure” Director Klay Hall and Producer Sean Lurie.

Below is the third section of that session:

Q: Do you anticipate any of the other Peter Pan characters making appearances in Tinker Bell films?

Klay Hall: You never know! It would be great.

Q: My question is to Mr. Hall. You have directed and produced several animated series. What made you want to direct this particular film?

Klay Hall: The opportunity to work with such an iconic character, such as Tinker Bell, was inspiring. I was up for the creative challenge of working with the classic Tinker Bell, but yet giving her a bit of a fresh look. Also, the opportunity to work with John Lasseter in such close proximity was a dream come true.

Q: What are the advantages of treating the fairies’ world in CG? And what are the difficulties that implies, too?

Sean Lurie: We felt that CG was a great medium for these films because it allows us to create a truly magical world. The richness, color and depth is fantastic. We also felt that CG would help create an environment that we could easily return to in subsequent films. Our biggest challenge with CG was to create a faithful rendition of Tinker Bell. We spent a lot of time on this because we know that this is a beloved character.

Q: What was John Lasseter’s involvement like on this film? At what level(s)?

Klay Hall: It was awesome! Working with John was a dream come true. He is so invested in these Tinker Bell films and very hands on. John is very much a collaborator and helpful at every level. He was involved practically at all levels. From working with us on the original story pitch, costume design, character design to sequence approval, animation, music and the final sounds effects mix.

Q: Different crews have been working on five different Tinker Bell movies. How do you manage to keep her consistency along all those adventures? Is there someone in charge of supervising the coherence of the whole? John Lasseter? How does that work?

Sean Lurie: Yes, this is a challenge. We have a story trust composed of the Directors, writers, producers, and selected others who review and offer help to each other and their projects. A lot of consistency issues are resolved in these meetings.

Q: Mr. Lurie, You have produced several animated films, what makes this one different from the rest?

Sean Lurie: Working with such a classic and popular character Tinker Bell is very unique. Working with people like John Lasseter is also a dream come true.

Q: To Mr. Lurie. Why was Klay Hall chosen to direct “Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure”?

Sean Lurie: Klay Hall is a great Director. He very funny, and he wants to tell great stories. Klay is specifically well suited for a project like this because he is a huge fan of Disney and the Classic characters and films.

Q: Who is your favorite fairy?

Klay Hall: It’s got to be Tinker Bell. What I love about Tinker Bell is she is feisty, has a bit of an attitude and tends to make mistakes. Yet, these attributes make her feel real and relatable to me.

Don’t forget that “Tinker Bell And The Lost Treasure” is releasing to Disney Blu-ray and DVD on October 27th! Are you planning on picking up a copy?

Miley Cyrus Does Not Miss Twitter

Miley Cyrus

Sounds like a bummer to us! From the looks of it Miley Cyrus won’t be heading back to her Twitter account anytime soon to let fans know what she is up to.

During a recent interview on 104.7 FM’s Johnjay and Rich Show Miley said about the social networking site: “I really haven’t missed it. I thought I was going to miss it a lot more than I do, but I haven’t even really looked at other people’s, which is really weird. I don’t really miss it. It’s kind of odd.”

Miley might not miss Twitter, but do you miss Miley’s Tweets?
