The Walt Disney Company has signed off on plans to build a new 12-stage production facility at its Golden Oak Ranch in the Santa Carita Valley in California.
Currently the plan is to use the studio for its ABC shows.
Right now Disney only has two soundstage facilities, so expanding it’s studio facilities will be a huge help for the company.
The new facility would be able to accommodate both indoor and outdoor filming. In addition, the studio expansion is set to generate thousands of new jobs as well as stimulate the economy.
The studio is set to open in 2013.
