The Walt Disney Company is putting $7 million toward a partnership with three conservation groups to protect tens of thousands of acres of forest lands.
The forests the money will be going to protect are in the Amazon basin, the Congo basin, as well as in two regions in the United States.
“Disney’s forest preservation is part of a company plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and eventually become “carbon neutral,” meaning emissions the company generates are offset with various carbon sequestration projects.”
The environment has been a very important subject for Disney lately, between this recent project and the Disney’s Friends For Change project which features many of Disney’s biggest stars urging fans to help protect and clean up the environment.
What do you do to help out the environment?
