Jennifer Stone, from the Disney Channel Original Series “Wizards of Waverly Place” has been cast as the lead character in the upcoming Disney Channel re-make of “Harriet the Spy.”
The show is based on the children’s book by Louise Fitzhugh, which has already been turned into a movie by Nickelodeon in 1996. The previous actress who held the role of Harriet was Michelle Trachtenberg.
Head of Disney Channel Programming, David Levine, had this to say about Jennifer playing the part this time around: “We know kids love to see series stars in movies.”

there was nothing wrong with the first one. i’m so sick of hollywood only making remakes of movies. i personally am sick of seeing the same movie over and over and over again.
