According to MTV: A spokesperson for Cyrus could not be reached for comment, but a source close to the singer told MTV News on Thursday (December 10) that the tune — which was not written by Cyrus — was not specifically penned for the movie, thereby making it ineligible for the award. The nomination was withdrawn by Cyrus' camp the day after the Grammy noms were announced last week, when the error was discovered. A statement about the withdrawal was expected at press time.
