All-New Magical Shopping Experience For Time Square’s Disney Store Fall 2010

A huge retail space in New York’s Times Square will be the new home of a Disney Store as of Fall 2010. The store will be located at 1540 Broadway, which is between 45th and 46th Street.

This Disney Store will be unlike any other built so far, and will include an interactive Disney Princess castle and a children’s theater which will play the latest Disney movies and entertainment.

The new location will also feature celebrity appearances and children’s play areas.

Jim Fielding, the president of Disney Stores Worldwide, had this to say about the new location: “Bringing Disney Store to the center of Times Square is a monumental achievement, and we have created a retail experience that complements the energy and innovation that Times Square inspires. We’re focused on reinvigorating retail and providing a unique shopping destination to millions of families from all over the world who travel to New York for a magical experience.”

Tim Tompkins, president of Times Square Alliance, said: “Disney’s bold move to restore 42nd Street’s greatest landmark theater in the 1990s was the turning point in Times Square’s recent history. We are thrilled that Disney is bringing its creative energies yet again to Times Square with this new Disney Store. An iconic brand is coming again to America’s most iconic place.”

This new Disney Store will be the inspiration for the changes that the Walt Disney Company hopes to make to hundreds of their Disney Stores around the world in the coming years.

  1. Awesome! I thought it was coming this spring, though… that was what it said in another website i was on last month… but i guess they couldn’t get finished that fast. Still, i can’t wait for the new store! I used to LOVE the last store, and got so sad when i found out that it was closed… but SO HAPPY when i found out that they’re just moving! I hope the new one i just as magical as the last one, with all of these little wooden figures from disney movies and stuff… well, it has to be… doesn’t it?
