The band The Fold produced the song above titled “Every Band In The USA” which is a Parody song of Miley Cyrus’ hit single “Party In The USA.” The Fold’s song not only rips the music track from Miley’s “Party” but it also uses Miley’s name and some of Miley’s lyrics.

This is absolutely uncalled for. Any other band can cover or parody songs but The Fold does it and it’s wrong now? They can perform this song/parody whatever way better than Miley ever could. They are an AMAZING band.
It is just a parody, in fact, everyone I had shown the fold’s video to (including people that know the original) think it’s awesome. Plus you poke fun of yourselves, not her. It also influenced me to listen to the original, I wouldn’t have done that otherwise if I hadn’t heard your awesome parody.
If so many other bands have done parodies why is it this one that is getting sued. They arnt taking credit for the tune. I think these lawyers should lean to laugh.

Seriously here…I never even heard of “A Party in the USA” until The Fold did this parody. Miley should just have some fun with it and maybe make an appearance at one of The Fold’s shows. The Fold did not sell the song nor make any money off of it. Get over it.

These guys aren’t making ANY money off of this song. The only thing their getting is recognition for writing a better song than “Party in the USA”
Dan Castady, the lead singer, I believe paid for the mechanical license to use parts of that song. But he mostly wrote and performed the music on his own.
So, they didn’t do anything illegal. So Miley and her “people” should shut the hell up.

This is so frustrating. The Fold is a local Chicago band. They’re just a band trying to have some fun. They’re not doing shit like Girl Talk and taking a song without paying for it and used it and is now making MONEY off of it and touring and stuff.

This is stupid. Miley’s just jealous because her song isn’t as good as the parody. The song is hilarious and the deserve credit for being so creative. If anything, she should pay them for making the song better. I bet more people know about her song since The Fold made a Parody of it.
i have listened to the Fold for awhile, and seen them 5 or 6 years ago. they are still trying to make a name for themselves, and i dont see what they could possibly have worth sueing for. they are not a big band, they dont make alot of money.
i would like to thank miley for suing them though. there is no chance she cant win, and its great publicity for the Fold.

MOST of this song is a parody. However the few lines of Miley’s song that are used are a Copyright infringement unless they paid for the rights to use it. Just because they aren’t making any money does not make it legal. Keep that in mind before you bash someone for protecting their intellectual property. This is why there are federal laws in place. Weird Al has been sued fyi. I am not a fan of Miley either I am just placing OBJECTIVE material into this. I do agree this is a much better version of the song it just doesn’t make it legal.

I love Miley. And I really don’t think it was HER decision to sue them. It was probably her lawyers. She isn’t a bit**, and she’s not just in it for te money. But it was wrong. There are other parodies out there (Vietnam Princess on YT does a whole bunch) so what makes this one so much worse than anyone else’s? It’s slightly ridiculous.

Miley sued a small Christian band over a ridiculously epic parody? Yes, yes she did. The reason I think she’s in the wrong is very simple: The Fold did NOT make any jabs at Miley, or insult her in any way. If they were making fun of anything, it was mostly inwardly directed. Personally, I think she’s a bratty drama queen who likes to squeeze as much money out of anyone as she can. As if she really needed the money…The Fold is struggling to just to make ends meet, while Miley probably owns more than one house. Maybe she was jealous that they came up with a much better version of her song, and that they actually possess real talent rather than having everything “auto-tuned” ;D THE FOLD ROCKS!!!
