That’s a negative. Walt Disney did not design Fantasy Land to have a Medieval flair, however, when Disneyland California opened the Fantasyland section of the park was not quite finished.
In place of some of the ride and building facades that were not completed, Imagineers put up Medieval themed banners to hide the construction – and guess what, the look this section of the park is known for stuck! And it got carried over into the design of the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasy Land at Walt Disney World.
