A new project has been announced for Miley Cyrus – a movie called “LOL: Laughing Out Loud.” The movie is a remake of a French movie made in 2008, and it is likely that Demi Moore will play Miley’s mom in the movie.
In the film, Miley’s character has been cast off by her boyfriend and decides to pursue his best friend, while at the same time her mother is divorced and is finding it difficult to restart her life as a single lady while trying to maintain a relationship with her daughter.
The new version of the film will be written and directed by the original writer/director of the French film, Lisa Azuelos.

To be honest, I’m english and I watched the french evrsion, I really liked it lots and I don’t hitnk personally that she will fit into it and I also think that the version ahs his own french european touch and it’s awesome. I love USA i lived in there for 2 years, from there comes alot of good stuff but I think the remake is going to suck same as the american SKINS?! Miley is not a good actress she just knows how to marked herself good and gets a lot of money for doing it nothing with so soo goooood singing or acting
Looks like a big waste of time and money, to me… Specially because the full european cast was simpathetic and looks pretty natural.

I loved the original and I’m Australian I don’t like the idea of the movie being in English it will spoil it… That is if Miley doesn’t automatically do that. She really doesn’t suit the role nothing against she ok in other things but this role really wont suit her. I’m sad that mainstream Hollywood is about to ruin an awesome movie.

Unlike most of these idiots, I will have to SEE it before I pass judgement on it. I’m willing to watch it when it comes on cable. As for you who are Miley haters, that’s really too bad for you. You’re ignorant, to say she can’t act, Disney wouldn’t have given her a tv show if that were true. Secondly, she is finding her way into movies now, and I’m sure the more she does, the more she will improve. Miley Cyrus, is a very talented individual who writes beautiful lyrics, plays several musical instruments, and has a unique and awesome singing voice. She is getting better with age. The only reason I can see for people not to like her, is jealousy. I doubt very seriously she has done anything personally to any of you, and she has the right to grow up, (which would be a good idea for most of you.) Everyone likes different styles of music and everyone has their choice of who they listen to. To literally be nasty and “Hate” someone that you don’t even know, tells me, ya got issues.

the reason there is such a variety of movies music and such is because people have different tastes. if i dont like something i wont watch or listen to it but im not going to put it down just because i dont like it. miley is making her choice to pursue that which makes her happy. its obvious alot of people enjoy her otherwise she wouldnt be where she is today. go enjoy the things you like and leave the rest to those who enjoy them.
Ok, so first of all they put miley cyrus in the movie so people would actually go see it cause they know people like her. The french version was hard to watch bcuz i had to keep pausing the movie to read the subtitles, but other then that it was good. im sure that this one wont be that bad either. im not a huuuge fan of miley but that doesnt mean some people are and those people will really want to go see the movie and they’ll probably lOve it. I’v seen the French version and loved it and don’t know if its worth replacing but at the same time im a huge Miley fan and think the role she’s been given is a good idea as we have never seen her as this kind of character and maybe this will change peoples views on her and let people no shes not 12 year old Hannah Montana no more but an 18 year old women, but we’ll see

I’m French and i live in California, and i can say that all the american remakes of french movies are crap. This one will be crap because the main character is played by Miley Cyrus who doesn’t know haw to act.

While I don’t like her music, nor her movies, I do respect her as a person. During the time you people sit here writing your, “I H8 U MILEY! That’s a he** of a lot more than any of you will probably make in two of your life-times. The original French movie ‘LOL’ was amazing. When I first found out about the remake I almost screamed up a storm. It just won’t be the same. Especially knowing that most people who watch it will have no idea about the original. The fact that Miley is in it just ruins it even more. I don’t think this movie could ever be recreated well.
I guess I can’t judge it until I see it, but I have high doubts that it can measure up to the original.
i love miley, and i think she is an amzing actress! everything she has been in has been great, and im sure shell carry the sucsess to this role as well!

At first i wanted to watch it because i thought it was a comedy because of its title “LOL”….but when i read the plot of the movie about teenagers wasting their lives, i thought never mind.
I want to see this movie because i am a big fan of Miley Cyrus.
I find it really funny that the people who don’t think Miley Cyrus will fit the role are probably the ones that hate her and think shes a wh***. Yet, that is a part of the role in the movie so your basically either saying that she “is a wh*** and isn’t capable of playing the role” or “isn’t a wh*** but just saying she can’t play the role” that would make more sense BUT first of all, you don’t know if she can or can’t play the role. Just because she’s 18 doesn’t make her unable to do a great job. You don’t know how much she practiced. For the record, I don’t think shes a wh*** and I think she will be able to play the role because I think shes talented.
If your going to call her a wh*** or something at least say she will be able to play the role since that’s basically A PART of what she has to play pretty much. But whatever.. it’s your guy’s opinion. I just thought it was funny that some people are saying she can’t “play the role” of her “normal life”. LOL shes not a wh*** though so…

The movie has already been done. The french cast has a GREAT performance and there is no reason for doing a remake.
Doesn’t matter who could be the actress. You don’t need to speak french to understand a french movie – get an english subtitle.
I’ve seen the same shame story with the movie “Bella Martha”, a German-Italian masterpiece that was simply copied to an english version (No Reservations) without any improvement…

This is tragic. The original version is a classic and nobody can top the likes of Sophie Marceau and Christa Theret. I think it’s appalling that the American industry feel the need to make a mockery of this film by using Miley Cyrus of all people.
This movie is going to suck, big time. The French version was amazing, especially with Sophie Marceau and Christa Theret. Demie Moore can (possibly) be on a par with Sophie Marceau (but probably not) and there is no way in he** Miley Cyrus can even compare with Christa Theret. I mean look at her previous roles, Hannah Montana and the girl from the Last Song. There is no way she can play this Lola as Lola has se*, does drugs, makes out with girls, drinks and much much more. She just isn’t good for the part, and honestly, why remake it, it was such a good film in the first place. If the Americans can’t deal with reading subtitles, than they have some serious issues (like with the Girl with the Dragon tattoo, there is no need to remake it!!)
