While David Archuleta did not perform at the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon, which raised money for those devastated by the earthquake in Haiti, he did perform an impromptu performance backstage for MTV News.
David performed a rendition of Kurt Bestor’s song “Prayer of the Children.”
Afterwards David urged fans to donate to Haiti.
Aww, what an amazing celebrity role model.

What an amazing person, inspires all of us with his soul, heart and voice to move mountains! He is so talented. His fans are amazing. David is such an inspiration. You can tell he is feeling the pain of the children. An interesting note is Many had already donated during the week and during the telethon but were inspired to dig a little deeper for this Cupcake drive and give some more!!!
David was one of the phone-celebs who spoke to donors and these celebs were interviewed backstage. Thanks to Jim Cantiello of MTV who asked David if he wanted to sing for his interview. It’s so beautiful. I gave to the telethon and again to the cupcakes donation drive.
This young man never stops giving of himself. His voice is one in a million. Who does this? Just asked if he has a song he wants to sing about the Hope for Haiti. Sings in acapella with all his heart and soul. He could have sung his own song Somebody Out There or even Save the Day! Both just tug at your heart and would have put money in his pocket. Instead he sings a cover Prayer of the Children because thats what God lead him to sing.I have never been so proud of any singer the way I am proud of what David stands for. He doesnt need all the fanfair and antics on stage just a pure and simple song that inpires us all to help! Humble,talented and the real deal!Thank you to some who sang songs that were so appropriate for the evening. David is who inspired me to give just by this simple song from his heart.
