Selena Gomez was interviewed by M Magazine for the March 2010 edition. The article is titled “Selena Gomez: A Positive Outlook On Life Is Everything.”
In the article Selena discusses what it was like to work on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition show and what her experience was like meeting the fans and the family in need.

“Tough times don’t last…tough people do.” Powerful words for sure, and ones Selena repeated over and over to us recently, as we sat in her New York City hotel room, chatting about the new path her life is taking.“That phrase describes me right now,” Selena confided to us. “I heard it from a fan I met on the set of Ramona and Beezus (Sel’s new movie out August 13). She had Leukemia and had just gotten out of the hospital. The fact that a nine-year-old say that – I was like, ‘Wow.’ It stuck with me.”
That brief moment in time was the start of an eye-opening journey for Selena – one that saw the star refocusing her energy on the positive and refusing to dwell on the negative. One way Selena is doing that is through charity work. Giving back nourishes Selena’s soul like nothing else. So when Sel was offered the opportunity to participate in ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, she jumped at the chance. The episode was centered around the Scotts, a family who had lost their police officer dad in the line of duty. Selena surprised the three Scott daughters: Leyla, 17, Deidie, 13, and Alethea, 11, by giving them a personal tour of the Wizards’ set! “The first thing I thought when I met the girls was how incredibly strong they were,” Selena exclusively tells M. “They acted as if nothing had happened to them and saw their lives as blessed. They didn’t let it effect them.”
Spending time with the Scott sisters left a lasting impression on Selena’s heart. “I’ll always remember how sweet they were,” she tells us. “And how they had a positive outlook on life.” That unbreakable spirit has stuck with Selena. With her first ever tour on the horizon, and new movie roles in I Know What Boys Want and reportedly The Seven Rays as well, Selens’s determined not to let the fear of new challenges paralyze her. “I think I spent too much time worrying last year – that was my biggest problem,” Selena reveals to us. “I should just be in the moment. I need to stop thinking the future is scary and feel excited for what’s next!”

5. After the “Hope For Haiti Now” telethon last week Selena Gomez got a ride from the Jonas Brothers. Selena sat in the back with Nick’s arm around her while Joe drove and Kevin rode shotgun.
6. In a recent interview, Taylor Swift said she wants to turn her new home in Nashville, TN into a fantasy land. She is going to put a moat in the living room and stock it with beautiful fish. Then she is going to have a stepping stone in the moat which leads to a spiral staircase. Up the staircase will be a life-sized bird cage. Wow, sounds like a very awesome fantasy home to us!
7. Selena Gomez got engaged recently…to a fan of course! One lucky young man dropped to one knee and asked Selena the all important question, “Will you marry me?” Selena’s answer? “Yes!” Selena was given a beautiful ring and on her way to leave she turned back and shouted “Bye husband!”
8. Actor Johnny Depp talks about his upcoming role as the Mad Hatter in the upcoming film “Alice In Wonderland.” The film is directed by Tim Burton and is extremely different from the original Disney Movie and is set to hit theaters on March 5th.
9. Beginning this week Corbin Bleu is in the Broadway musical “In The Heights.” Corbin recently posted pictures of the cast and parts of the performance on his Facebook account. You can check them out here.
