As much as many of us Zac Efron fans didn’t want to get our hopes up since it seemed like too much of a long shot, it now seems that Zac may actually be playing Spider-Man in the 4th movie in the series.
After the movie got a reboot, with a new script and new actors, it was unclear who would be playing young Peter Parker – but OK Magazine is reporting that that factor has already been decided.
The magazine has stated that Zac has been promised $15 million to play the role of Spider-Man and that the movie will release to theaters sometime in 2011 or 2012.
The magazine is also claiming that previous Spider-Man actor Tobey Maguire recommended Zac for the part.
But that’s not all, High School Musical fans may be in for a treat too if this is really all truthful!
Vanessa Hudgens, Zac’s real-life girlfriend, may have been slated to play Mary Jane, Spider-Man’s love interest.
This would be absolutely amazing and would make us head to the theater to see this film, but is it just us, or does it all seem too good to be true?
Although, now that the Walt Disney Company owns Marvel Entertainment, we can see draw for them to pick Disney actors for the roles.

Yeah, I will behead everyone at Disney and Marvel if they let this fembot play Earth’s greatest comic book character. Keep anything that belongs to Disney away from Spider-Man or any other other Marvel character.
This really is clown shoes, Efron is the worst choice for Spider-Man in my opinion, and really Vanessa Hudgens as MJ? NO! I cant even see her in red hair so it would look stupid. Besides this reboot should focuses on him in high school much like the portion of the comic book so MJ shouldnt even be his girlfriend because she wasnt the first, gwen stacy was.
First off, this is a BS article….for many reasons.
But let me point out the most obvious, sensical one.
They’re not going to pay him 14 million dollars….or anyone for that matter.
The movies budget is rumored to only be in the 80 million dollar ballpark…..theyre not going to blow a quarter of their budget on some transexual with a faggy haircut. Or his skanky wetback girlfriend to play the roll of mary jane….who as previously stated by another poster probably wont even be in this, since theyre going the roll of his high school days, and if stay true to form would have a love story with gwen stacy rather than MJ.
P.S. if by some amazing feat of satanism any of this is true, whoever said theyre going to bomb marvel and disney….ill drive the van.

Total BS, OK magazine is not very reliable, and Vanessa does not fit.
On the other hand it could be worst if Robert Pattinson were given the role, he is a far worst actor than Zac Efron.
I think tobey will be siutable for this movie. zac efron and vanessa would not be good actors for this kind of movie.

Okay. Thing is, I didn’t mind the thought about Zac being on the movie so much at first. Now you’re talking about Vanessa Hudgens too? It’s like a High School Musical all over again. I say stick with the same characters.. It’s like the same as Home Alone. They changed the boy in numbers 3 and 4. You just can’t change around the characters. You’ll lose interest in the people.

Zac is too young for the role. I know they are rebooting the franchise but I cant see it somehow.
Everyone needs to look past Zac Efron’s High School Musical days. Watch his earlier work. He really is a fantastic actor. I saw an episode of ER that he guest starred in, then saw Charlie St. Cloud, and it wasn’t until then that I realized that if he were Spider-Man, my absolute favorite comic book character, I would watch it. Even if the story is sh** *hem-hem, Spider-Man 3* it would be made better by Zac’s ability to take a shi**y story and add good acting. Vanessa Hudgens better stay away from this though. She could never be Mary-Jane, or even Gwen Stacy. What ever happened to Betty Brant being a character?
