Gary Unmarried The Complete First Season DVD Review

We just finished watching the entire first season of the series “Gary Unmarried” on DVD. The show stars comedian Jay Mohr and is produced by Emmy Award-winning James Burrows who also worked on “Taxi,” “Friends,” and “Cheers.”

This DVD is releasing from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment on February 9th and comes on a 3 disc DVD set.

Gary Unmarried is produced by ABC Studios in association with CBS Television Studios.

To us the show seems like a mix between the series “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “Two and a Half Men.” The comedic timing is perfect and the characters’ relationships with each other are not only hysterical, but also believable.

The plot of the show is that Jay’s character “Gary” has recently gotten a divorce from his wife “Allison” played by Paula Marshall. The two had been married for fifteen years and have two kids together. Now Gary and Allison are trying to figure out what makes them happy, and who makes them happy.

Both Gary and Allison are involved in a number of relationships throughout the season while they try to raise their children together in between arguing with each other. But at the end of the DVD the question is, will the two get back together? Guess we’ll have to wait for season 2 to get that answer!

We HIGHLY recommend this DVD. We watched it from start to finish, and laughed during each episode on the disc. The episodes do not have to be watched in order, although it does make things a bit easier to follow. Get ready to roll on the floor laughing at the real-life dysfunction of Gary, his ex-wife, new girlfriend, and two kids.
