This was so nice of him!
This week, Jamie Foxx headed to the Walt Disney Concert Hall where he presented new instruments to students from four high schools who attended the small concert and donation event.
Jamie donated $500,000 worth of instruments to students from 16 schools across the nation this week – including violins, flutes, drums, trumpets and French horns.
The instruments are part of the Fidelity FutureStage program which promotes arts education in public schools.
Foxx won a scholarship to study piano in college, and told the students in attendance at the concert hall: “That allowed me to come to L.A. and work on my craft. Then I went into acting and comedy, and then it was Ray Charles …”
Jamie said about the Fidelity FutureState program: “Even if a kid is not going to be the greatest musician in the world, just the fact that you gave him something, the fact that you said, ‘hey, I care about you,’ that’s what it’s about.”
