ABC’s LOST Season 6 Episode 4 Recap

February 16, 2010 |  by

So tonight, we tuned in with millions of other viewers to watch the 4th episode of ABC’s LOST season 6.

First off, let us just start by saying we are a bit disappointed that the big “answer” they awarded us this episode was one we already knew – that Jacob was bringing people to the island.

Granted, they did tell us that Jacob wanted all of the people on the island for a reason – because they were candidates to take over his position. (Out of all the characters, which one do you think would best fit in the role of Jacob?)

We’re still extremely confused as to why Richard Alpert is so scared of whoever is inhabiting Locke’s body. Do you have any idea why?

In the episode, all the characters who are not already at the Temple make their way there, except for “Locke” and Sawyer. The two of them head to Jacob’s cave so that Sawyer can get the answers he is looking for there. After Sawyer sees all of the names that are written on the wall of the cave, including his own, Locke tells him that he has three choices.

1. To do nothing.
2. To take over Jacob’s job.
3. To get off the island.

Sawyer, who is already very upset and vulnerable after the death of his girlfriend Juliet, decides he wants to leave the island – so what tricks does “Locke” have up his sleeve to make that happen, and why is Sawyer so trusting of him?

We can’t wait to find out what the numbers next to the names on the cave walls mean. LOST is all about numbers, we bet it has something to do with the end result of the series!

Sadly enough we didn’t get any answers in episode 4 about Claire’s character, who has been missing in the woods for 3 years and who the leader at the Temple has said is “not herself.” We caught a glimpse of her at the end of episode 3, but no such luck in this episode.

We thought this episode was great at tying all of the characters together, and having them all turn up in unexpected places, including Ben Linus being a teacher, but we were missing a lot of characters in the episode – most noticeably Jack and Kate.

Did you watch the episode and catch anything interesting we might have missed? Let’s discuss!

  1. I think it was very cool how new Locke told Sawyer if he chose option two (taking Jacobs place) he would just scratch his name off this rock. We all know what that really means. Lol. Do you think Sawyer understood?

  2. Wouldn’t Sawyer have looked for Juliet’s name on the cave wall?

  3. I think there is a big character they are not discussin yet..thats charles widmore. I think he is with the Black monster(locke).. a showdown is in the making

  4. Those numbers prefix to the names written in the caves..seemed like 4 8 15 16 23 42

  5. 4 – Locke
    8 – Reyes
    15 – Form
    16 – Jarad
    23 – Jack Shepard
    42 – Kwon

  6. With the numbers on the wall did anyone notice that Kate’s name isn’t shown? Also who is the little boy “Locke” tries to catch?

  7. what about the blonde haired boy? it was clearly Jacob – looked like him and the conversation he had with evil locke referred to the beach conversation in the opening of season 5, the one about the rules not allowing them to kill each other.
