The plan was for Disney to release its classic movie “Beauty and the Beast” in 3D recently, however it will not be happening until next year.

The movie is not ready to hit 3D theaters yet, but 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of the Disney Classic – a great time for it to re-release!

Head of Disney Animation and Pixar Animation, John Lasseter said about Disney revamping it’s other Disney Classics in 3D:

“We don’t have any plans yet for further 3-D-izing of our older films, but it’s always a possibility. I’m excited that people are loving 3-D and it seems to be not just a fad, but something that will stay.”
