Valentine’s Day Movie Review

February 18, 2010 |  by

We’re currently hanging out at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida and lucky enough for us there’s an AMC theater located conveniently at Downtown Disney – and it was playing the movie “Valentine’s Day”!

We went to see this movie specifically to watch the relationship of Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift play out on the big screen, and we were prepared for the worst after hearing some not-so-great reviews about the film.

However, we were pleasantly surprised and we really liked the movie!

The movie stars a HUGE list of celebrity actors, and was directed by Garry Marshall who directed the classic movie “Pretty Woman” starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

The actors in “Valentine’s Day” include:

- Jessica Alba
- Kathy Bates
- Jessica Biel
- Bradley Cooper
- Eric Dane
- Patrick Dempsey
- Hector Elizondo
- Jamie Foxx
- Jennifer Garner
- Topher Grace
- Anne Hathaway
- Carter Jenkins
- Ashton Kutcher
- Queen Latifah
- Taylor Lautner
- George Lopez
- Shirley MacLaine
- Emma Roberts
- Julia Roberts
- Bryce Robinson
- Taylor Swift
- Matthew Walker

There are plenty of ongoing story lines in the movie, but the one we were most concerned about was that of Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner.

Their relationship played out for less than ten minutes in the film, but made a lasting impression and showed Taylor S’ capabilities as an actress. Taylor S plays a over-the-top teen whose infatuation with her boyfriend is so far from the real Taylor S that it made us fall out of our seat laughing. Her comedic timing is perfect and the expressions on her face even out-shined the eight-pack good looks of Taylor L.

In our opinion, this is a must-see for anybody who is a true fan of Taylor S or Taylor L.

And as for the other actors in the film, Ashton Kutcher really stepped up to the plate and gave a great performance alongside his funny-man sidekick George Lopez. Jennifer Garner played the character we love to see her play on the big screen, a lovable, yet bitingly sarcastic character who is sometimes blinded by love.

Other notable performances include Jessica Biel and Queen Latifah as well as 6 minutes from Julia Roberts.

ABC Grey’s Anatomy fans will recognize both Mc Dreamy and Mc Steamy (Patrick Dempsey and Eric Dane) who both have large roles in the film.

So, if you haven’t seen the movie already, get up, right now, and go. Just kidding, but really, you should check it out. You will be pleasantly surprised, just like we were.

For those who have seen it, what are your thoughts?
