Walt Disney Pictures is working on developing a movie set for the big screen titled “Prom.”
The movie is said to be similar to the High School Musical films we all know and love, except it will not be a musical. The movie will focus on students in high school getting ready for Prom night.
No current Disney stars are likely to act in the film, rather an all-new cast is expected to be found.
The script was written by Katie Wech, producers are Ted Griffin and Justin Springer, and the director will be Joe Nussbaum who worked on the Amanda Bynes film “Sydney White.”

Role #1 Tommy
The mayor of High School. Gorgeous, charismatic and charming. He’s captain of the lacrosse team and used to having it all. An all around guy that’s a jock, used to getting what he wants, and has the school in his hands.
Role #2 Rick
Hot and sexy, he’s the bad boy that good girls try (and usually fail) to ignore. His unfriendliness masks some very grown-up burdens, and deep vulnerabilities that it would take someone special to uncover. Handsome bad boy that girls can’t seem to resist
Role #3 Philip
He just cleared the puberty hurdle, and goofy awkwardness is beginning to give way to good looks. This sweet JV lacrosse player is impossible not to root for Just about to get over puberty and is no longer looking like the ugly duckling.
Role #4 Gary
He’s the funny, loveable geek and Philip’s best friend. He’s SO stoked about getting his learner’s permit. Now if only his mom would get off his back. He is a humorous dork that gets along with everybody.
Role #5 Brandon
Brandon is good looking and the type of guy that parents want their daughters to be with.
Handsome and clean cut, he’s the guy your mom wants you to marry.
Role #1 Saeyoung
Nova’s best friend, she’s self-assured and sassy. She’s constantly off-and on with her struggling boyfriend. One might describe her as a drama queen, just not to her face. Conceited and centered around drama. Not an easy girl to confront.
Role #2 Simone
The prettiest sophomore in school. Struggling with where she belongs and who she is, in a world where charming older boys can be very influential In the midst of finding out who she is. Having issue with older boys due to being one the hottest girls in her sophomore class.
Role #3 Monica
Beautiful and self-confident, she’s the most popular girl in school, though the strain of that title is wearing on her. There might be a more independent spirit under the pom poms and circumstance Very pretty and has tons of confidence in herself. Is the most popular girl in her school, even though this stresses her.
Role #4 Nova
Straight edge gal that is a 4.0 student. Gets along and brings out the best in everyone. Has a very natural presence about her that makes her beautiful. A straight arrow with straight A’s, she sees the best in everyone and every situation. Pretty in an unassuming and natural way, she’s a Type A overachiever without being overbearing.

Well, I wish that the Disney Channel auditions wouldn’t be confined to America. I wish it would come over to the UK once in a while. And by the UK, I don’t just mean England. I mean Scotland. I’m someone who really wants to act, but I can never catch a break cause I’m a 15 year old girl living in a small town in the west of Scotland…and you hardly ever see good scottish actors on the telly, apart from the Scheme…and thats horrible…:/
Hmmm I was very interested in doing this the moment I knew about it but then I got very hesitant about it…I love performing even though I’m a shy person at times. But why not take a chance and see, right! I won’t know unless I try! I guess I will then! And just hope for the best! ^_^
