On March 2, 2010 Walt Disney Records will be releasing the original motion picture soundtrack for Disney’s “Alice In Wonderland” movie.
The album features songs composed by Danny Elfman, who also worked on “Spider-Man” and “Milk.” This is the twelfth time that Danny has worked with Tim Burton, who directed “Alice In Wonderland.” The two also teamed up for:
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
- Corpse Bride
- Planet of the Apes
- Sleepy Hollow
- Mars Attacks!
- The Nightmare Before Christmas
- Edward Scissorhands
- Beetlejuice
- Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
- Batman
- Batman Returns
Danny says about the process he and Tim have when working together: “There’s always going to be a process that we go through. It’s always lots of experimentation, lots of trial and error, trying things that don’t work and discovering kind of happy accidents. But, there’s no technique to it or formula – even after this many films.”
Danny says about the soundtrack songs: “Tim and I, we both wanted to keep it pretty organic and pure, and really not try to get clever.” The soundtrack uses a lot of instruments and tries to capture the feeling of the characters and the scenes during the film.
In regards to the dance of joy in Wonderland, Danny says, “It’s really an attempt to come up with something rhythmic without having it be too obviously contemporary, yet the dance that they’re doing is clearly not of the period. So it was kind of like trying to find something that’s fun and a little bit skirting, pushing the bounds of what could be acceptable.”
Danny himself has earned a Grammy Award, Emmy Award and four Academy Award nominations for his past work. He has also composed over 60 motion-picture scores for a number of well-known directors, including:
- Tim Burton
- Gus Van Sant
- Sam Raimi
- Ang Lee
- Taylor Hackford
- Errol Morris
- Rob Marshall
- Brett Ratner
- Guillermo del Toro
- Wayne Wang
- Timur Bekmambetov
- Barry Soonenfeld
- Brian De Palma
- Peter Jackson
- The Hughes Brothers
-Richard Donner
- Jon Amiel
- Martin Brest
- Warren Beatty

“Don’t want you passin’ out after a couple o’ hours of beat.”
We’re currently watching the movie “The Longshots” and a girl showed up on the screen who we swore looked a lot like Debby Ryan – well guess what, it was!
The movie released in 2008 and Debby played the character Edith who plays the sidekick to the mean girl in school.
The film is based on a true story about a former high school football star who teaches his niece, Jasmine, the game. She gets so good that she begins playing on the all-boys team. The former star, Curtis, comes back to coach the team his niece is on after the old coach becomes too weak to.
We haven’t finished watching the movie yet, but apparently the team will go on to the Pop Warner Super Bowl and they get a chance at winning – but will they?
Rumor has it that Justin Bieber may be collaborating with rapper Lil Wayne in the future.
Although, with Lil Wayne’s trip to jail soon, the collaboration will have to be held off for a while.
If Justin could collaborate with any artist, who would you choose?
Disney’s Wide World of Sports will be rebranded as ESPN Wide World of Sports. Disney hopes that this rebranding will make more consumers aware that the companies are linked. The new branding will be revealed and celebrated tomorrow, February 25th at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex.
Along with the rebranding, the ESPN Wide World of Sports space will be made more interactive for fans. There will also be new signs, video screens, audio systems and a scoreboard.
George Bodenheimer, President of ESPN Inc and ABC Sports, and co-chair of Disney Media Networks said: “Our involvement in the Disney sports complex will provide greater opportunities for us to connect directly with athletes, coaches and fans in a highly immersive way. Our involvement also provides us with a unique and exciting new media platform that will enable our advertisers and sponsors to reach new customers and bring their products and services to life.”
