Alright, we’re not sure how much we agree with this!
In a recent interview, the writers and creators of ABC’s LOST series have said that they don’t have enough time to wrap up all of the loose ends of the show!
Damon Lindelof, one of the co-creators of LOST, said:
“Now that we’re [preparing] the finale, we’re not at all having the experience of ‘Oh, my God, we forgot to do this!’ We’re big fans of the show Top Chef. Those guys all run through Whole Foods and they have to pull all of this stuff down — they have to get stuff they might not use in the dish. When they get to the kitchen, they have to decide whether or not they’re going to use it. Our process is kind of the same.”
Other co-creator Carlton Cuse said:
“There’s a lot of little questions that unfortunately we just don’t have time to answer in the amount of time that we have left. Ultimately, the way we look at it is that if the characters don’t care about that question, then we as storytellers don’t care about that question.”
And not only will they not answer a lot of the questions the viewers have, but they say the show is totally over after the final episode this season:
“We feel like the show should stand on its own. We’re actually not going to comment on the show after the finale. We want everybody to basically be able to continue the dialogue…We don’t think it’s really appropriate for us to say, ‘Oh, here is the official definition for what we meant by any particular moment on the show.’”
How do you feel about this?

This is unfair. We invested 6 years into watching this show. I believe if there is not enough time to answer all questions they should at least have the courtesy to hold a session to answer all top questions left unanswered as a gesture of gratitude towards the fans that watched their show for 6 years.
What’s the point of having a plot and answers if these two guys keep them to themselves and not share them will their millions of fans. ludicrous, scandalous, shameful, treasonous.
feels like betrayal to the fans. we follow the show and you spit in our faces. why not simple admit you didn’t know where it was going from the beginning and now you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. or better yet, swindle another half season or make a direct to dvd movie to answer everything. i assure you i won’t be watching anything else you guys write if this is going to be a trend.
There is no reason to not have enough time. They are the ones that picked the end date years ago. They have simply wanted the show to be suspenseful. I mean there is usually a suspensful moment before every commercial break. They have been making it up as they go. Now it’s time for answers and they don’t have them. Or they would be doing interviews after the finale so the diehard fans can get answers they need. The fact that they won’t do interviews is discraceful. They just won’t do them because they won’t have the answers. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe the finale will be awesome and might just not answer some little questions. But I fear we have been taken for a ride. Which will piss me off. Cause I love the characters and the show. I just want it to be tied up at the end regardless if how goofy it is. Happy Sunday!!!
i wholeheartedly agree with all of you. yes, minor plot points like who the people who tried to kill sayid off the island were aren’t important, but i’m praying like phillip that by the finale, most of the important answers are given. if not, wow. not even a post-show discussion? sickening.
This is exactly what I thought was going to happen. I hate to say it but any amateur writer can write shocking and mysterious from episode to episode (Seasons 1-3) and keep viewers attention. But now, when it comes time to justify all of the twists and turns they can’t offer all the answers? I feel robbed.
I feel lucky. I have the past two and one half seasons saved on a hard drive from my DVR, and now I won’t have to watch them.
It is called false advertising. After claiming that they would answer most of the major questions, they answered nothing! I have to collect some more of their official promises and then I will be compiling it all and filing a massive charge against ABC. I stopped watching this show back in season 3 until they promised that they would A) Answer the questions they just kept piling up and B) Had assured funding to finish the show (aka it would not be canceled). At least they had B right…
