ABC Family has acquired the rights to the network television premiere of the movie “The Blind Side” starring Sandra Bullock after making a deal with Warner Bros. studios.
The deal gives ABC Family the rights to premiere the movie in 2012.
Tom Zappala, the Executive Vice President of Program Acquisitions and Scheduling for ABC Cable Networks Group said:
“‘The Blind Side’ has a wonderful mix of optimism and heart. “It is a perfect fit for ABC Family.”
While Ken Werner the President of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution said:
“Feature films are an integral part of the formula for a successful cable service, and ABC Family has created a terrific destination where Warner Bros. movies have thrived. The acquisition of ‘The Blind Side’ is yet another example of how ABC Family and Warner Bros. collaborate to enhance the great ABC Family franchise.”
