LOST Season 6 Episode 7 Recap

March 9, 2010 |  by

Tonight’s episode of the ABC series LOST reminded us again why it is our favorite show currently on television. There was just the right ratio of questions to answers in this episode.

We learned about Richard, and how he can’t age or die because of a “gift” he was given by Jacob, but that he really wants to die now that Jacob is gone. Richard said that he was living his life with purpose because Jacob said everything happened for a reason, but now that Jacob is no longer alive Richard feels as if his life was worthless. But what we don’t understand is that if Jacob convinced Richard that everything happens for a reason, why wouldn’t Richard believe that Jacob’s death had a purpose?

We love that Jack is finally all for staying on the island, we’ve been dealing with his desire to leave the island for 5 season, and it’s great that he’s finally on board. However it’s interesting that as soon as he gets with the program of realizing he’s on the island for a reason, the characters who thought that in the beginning, specifically Hurley, no longer feel the same way.

It’s great that Ben and his “daughter” Alex have a relationship in the Flash Sideways – and that he’ll put her future ahead of his own – something he failed to do while they were on the island. Ben’s father was also seen in the Flash Sideways, and surprisingly he says he wanted a better life for Ben, and thinks that if they had “stayed” on the island when he was there with the Darma Initiative, Ben’s life would have turned out more blessed – little does he know!

We’re so glad that Ben was able to redeem himself at the end of the episode, however we’re just waiting for “Locke” to come storming (literally) back in to find out why he didn’t meet him and his team on the other island. We doubt that “Locke’s” big plan was to let Ben go free so he could stay where he was – but who knows with “Locke,” he seems to be pretty smart.

At the end of the episode the characters on the beach are reunited with Hurley, Jack and Richard, but honestly, when is it finally going to be time for Jin and Sun to reunite – we feel like we’ve been waiting for that for forever!

Now for the important part. Charles Widmore appeared – we knew he was coming back! His sub seemed to have taken off from the island, meaning he was there the whole time. So what exactly does that mean? Where was he hiding out? Did Jacob know he was coming, and that’s who he told Hurley about? We’d love to know your guesses.

Can’t wait to see what happens next week! The anticipation is already making us nuts! But hey that’s what LOST is all about right?
