Did Nickelodeon Snub Disney Stars At Kids Choice Awards?

March 28, 2010 |  by

It is being reported that Nickelodeon informed it’s rival, our beloved Disney Channel that only a handful of it’s stars would be allowed to walk the orange carpet at the 2010 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards this year. Our guess is that Viacom, who owns Nickelodeon, felt that having all that Disney star power would detract from them promoting their own stars.

Although some Disney stars were permitted to walk the orange carpet including Selena Gomez, Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato to name a few, there were some stars that got the boot like Sterling Knight and Jennifer Stone who would have to file through the doors at the UCLA Pauley Pavilion with everybody else.

A Nickelodeon Spokesperson had this to say about the allegations of snubbing Disney stars off the orange carpet,

“Anyone who has watched the Kids’ Choice Awards over the past 22 years knows that there’s absolutely no merit”

Interesting, what do you think, did Nickelodeon snub Disney stars at this years Kids Choice Awards?

  1. yea i agree & i really think sonny with a chance should have won choice tv show instead of iCarly

  2. Wow Jennifer Stone didn’t get to walk the carpet. That is kind of snobish. If you’re going to let one walk the carpet let them all walk the carpet. It feels like specail treatment was given to a few stars like Demi and Joe.

  3. It makes sense that they would but, that’s just plain rude. I mean, only Disney stars that were nominees were on the orange carpet while any one from Nick was allowed to walk the carpet. It’s not fair, some may call it discrimination.

  4. THEY DID!! They can’t lie

  5. If I knew this happened last year I would have wrote Nickelodeon an ANGRY letter! This isn’t right at all. Disney is wayyyyyyy better than Nickelodeon and everyone knows it. It’s completely wrong for Nick to treat Disney stars this way. I’m never going to give Nickelodeon my viewership again!
