Jason Dolley From Disney Channel’s Good Luck Charlie Talks About Family Sitcoms

April 2, 2010 • By

Jason Dolley from the Disney Channel Original Series “Good Luck Charlie” talked to TV Guide about bringing back family sitcoms to television.

“They were so huge, especially when my parents were growing up — everyone watched TV together. That whole TGIF concept, for whatever reason, is gone now. But I think we will sort of fill that void.”

Good Luck Charlie is about a family consisting of two parents and four children – three of whom are still getting used to their new sister Charlie – and are put in charge of caring for her when their parents return to work.

Other celebrities to look for in Good Luck Charlie include:
- Bridgit Mendler
- Bradley Steven Perry
- Leigh-Allyn Baker
- Eric Allan Kramer

Jason also said about GLC:

“When I read [the script], I was like, ‘Oh, this is kind of cool. This is a little different. It has a Full House kind of feel. It’s very family-friendly. Families can sit down and watch this and get a real laugh. I think that’s what’s been cool about it from the start and what’s still cool about it today.”

“There’s lots of fun stuff coming up. I have no idea how the season is going to end. I think there’s potential for a cliff-hanger with relationships and stuff like that. I don’t think that’s the way they’re going to go with it right now. … If we do have a cliff-hanger, hopefully we’ll be back! I think people will respond to the show. Family sitcoms are definitely missing and missed.”

Good Luck Charlie premieres this Sunday, April 4th at 8:30/7:30c on the Disney Channel. Will you be tuning in?
