Miley Cyrus’ hit song “The Climb” has just won the seventh annual Musicnotes Song of the Year Award by Musicnotes, Inc., the market leader in downloadable sheet music. “The Climb” won the award because it was the best-selling sheet music song of 2009.
Kathy Marsh, President and CEO of Musicnotes.com, said:
Looking back at the years that we have given out this award, we can see how well the most popular song reflects an important part of popular culture. Each award speaks to a part of music history.
Julie Enzer, from Disney Music Publishing, had this to say about the award:
Receiving the Musicnotes Song of the Year Award is an exciting ‘first’ for Disney Music Publishing and a recognition of the great song written by our Jessi Alexander with Jon Mabe.
Congratulations to Miley and the team who wrote “The Climb”!
