Disney Channel Orignal Movie “Avalon High”
Production has just gotten underway in New Zealand on a new Disney Channel Original Movie “Avalon High.” The movie is set to star Britt Robertson and Gregg Sulkin.
The movie, which is based on a novel by Meg Cabot, follows the character Allie Pennington who is a new student at Avalon High who is shocked to learn that her classmates are reincarnations of King Arthur and his Court. She begins to see parallels between her classmates and the past as she is researching a term paper on King Arthur’s legacy:
“From handsome quarterback Will, his cheerleader girlfriend, Jen, and their best friend, Lance, to Will’s brooding step-brother, Marco, a quirky kid named Miles and football players who act like knights of the roundtable. “

You guys are so dumb. Of course they changed her name to Allie, because the old english version of the name Elaine was actually Alaine and they were trying to be more Arturian. And, the character of Allie was never intended to be a symbol of the lady of shallot. The lady of shalot was a crazy lady who was seriously in love with lancelot and commited suicide when lancelot spurned her. Allie or Ellie, is the lady of the lake, not the Lady of Shallot. Both the lady of shalot and the lady of the lake had the same name, spelled Alaine, which is how they spelled it before the language was slaughtered to make it more modern. The lady of the lake traditionally in the times of camelot helped arthur and was the one that helped him find his true power and the one that first handed him excalibur.
You know, i feel that i dont want anyone to make the movie because they will slaughter it and at the same time i kinda want them to make the movie to see if it will come out right. When they did percy jackson and the olympians i was soooo pissed off, to this day i still rant about it to my classmates… Now, they ruined Avalon high, which is just WRONG! And next year they are going to make the hunger games into a movie which will probably be slaughtered too! I swear, the movie producers of the world got a list of my favorite books and are now intent on making them into crappy movies! WHATS NEXT??? ARE THEY GOING TO RUIN THE MEDIATOR SERIES TOO????? AGGGHHGHGHG! i am so frustrated… what do u think? and lets hope they dont ruin the hunger games, oh please please please!
this book rocked but the Disney channel movie was very far from real book!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They murdered this great book by creating this movie. For anyone who has not read the book based on the horrible movie version I advise that you read the book it is one of my all time favorites but the movie was two hours of my life wasted that I will NEVER get back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Disney should have followed the book a little closer if the name were not “avalon high” I would not have known that it was based on the book at all. I was so psyched to finally watch this but what a disappointment I accpected more from Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW i think this is far the best movie disney/ book has ever made and it is no longer kiddie like i love the music and gregg looks so cute nice one disney……
I Loved this movie! i have never read the book but i am thinking about it! I wish my life could have an adventure like that. Anyway i hope a lot of people enjoy the movie from Disney Channel. Hope they play it soon. haven’t seen it in a while!
